I've done it, many moons ago. I prefer my creature comforts when I camp.Don't have to be hardy to camp out.
If you haven't done it before it might seem daunting at first, but once you actually try it and get some good equipment one will find it can be quite relaxing and restful.
As an example, I have a tent in which I can stand up and store all my gear in.
Couple that with an nice air mattress and good sleeping bag and Bob's your uncle.
And there are many varied options one can employ.

On the bright side; if we have falling down issues, nothing safer than sleeping on the ground.As we age we often face health problems, even if it's only joint/back issues which can make 'tenting' difficult/untenable.
