One of my favorites, although I don't enjoy Colorado as much as used to. The Top O’ The Rockies Rally is a great location for a good time and ride. The entire event takes place within the beautifully maintained City Park of historic Paonia, Colorado. $55-65 covers 3 nights camping and a Saturday dinner. ALL BRANDS WELCOME.

Why?
Asking for no other reason but curiosity.
I much prefer Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming (maybe even Utah) for the same reason I prefer riding in the Ozarks over the Smokies: too much tourist traffic, even in the middle of nowhere. ;)

I have no trouble believing that. Colorado was one of the few places where I came close to not finding lodging, and that was many years ago and I don't imagine it is any better now.

On the plus side for camping, an annual Colorado Parks and Wildlife Area Pass for out of state seniors is only $11.50 ($44.83 for out of state non seniors); allowing you to (primative) camp for free in hundreds of designated SWA (State Wildlife Area - not to be confused with State Park) campgrounds. They're literally all over the place.

Talk about a confusing website.... there's a fee/license for just about everything lol.. I hate camping in CO due to all their fees... during covid I couldn't camp at Crawford State Park because I didn't register online... the campground was maybe 10% occupied, I could see lots of empty sites... at the drive thru office there were 2 in there and they would not give me a campground until I registered online first... but, I had no cell service so they suggested I ride north to the nearest town to register 1st then come back... whaaaaaa.... bye!!

I went to my favorite for the area - Elk Creek Campground in the Curecanti NRA and it let me do 92 again. That campground is always a good option, flat and not a lot of trees but no hassle at all.

Very simple for SWA's, if hunters and fishermen can figure it out... as I said, they're all over the place and all you need is the annual pass to camp... but yes, no matter the state, I pretty much hate camping in all State Parks.

JUST THIS:

Fill Age and Residency then select Land and Trails, Annual Pass.
If you do this camping stuff with a little planning ahead you can save a lot . COE's are great, National Parks fill up months in advance but if you can get a camping site prices are reasonable with the senior pass. If not camping there with the old man pass you can go in and use the showers. KOA's only if in a bind. Nebraska has a few free recreation area camping. And yes Utah,Wyoming and Montana are the best.

Great CAMPING rally; 480 happy tent campers.

I saw at least 15-20 Gold Wings there, so Honda was represented but not proud enough for a group picture like the Guzzi riders.
