2025 Honda NT 1100

I appreciate all the wonderful comments on the NT1100. I currently have 45k miles on my 2018 Goldwing Tour DCT. It’s been a great bike. I may take a look at the NT. Just feel, as good as the bike is, it may feel too much like a step down from the Wing.
When you get old enough, you'll either lose your taste for motorcycling, or decide the weight is more than you want to deal with anymore. Believe me, it happens.

In 2017, I took my post-retirement epic ride. The guy with me had a Goldwing. To make time to get down to Utah and the five national parks there, we headed straight down through the Great Basin. Crosswinds were so strong, I thought my helmet would be ripped off my head if I hadn't strapped it on. His bike was a Goldwing. Mine was a 2014 BMW F800GT. 470 lbs wet, before luggage. We got to the motel at the end of each day, and he collapsed in bed, exhausted for at least an hour. I dumped my luggage in my room and headed out to see the local sites.

It's not like the old days where bigger was always better. Sometimes less is more.

IMO another jaded moto journalist spoiled by riding different mfgs high performance bikes in a high performance manner, that doesn't understand riders who can appreciate "just riding"
But he describes exactly how I have fun and full control in tight backs-weeps and snaking roads on my old ST1100...
For just "cruising along" I could as well take my old family combi...
