2026 Honda Transalp E-Clutch Preview
2026 Honda Transalp E-Clutch in White

Introduced in 2024 on the CB650R and CBR650R before being added to the 2026 Rebel 300 and CB750 Hornet, Honda’s E-Clutch system has now been added as standard equipment to the 2026 Honda Transalp. Additionally, the Transalp gets a new skidplate and suspension adjustment for more off-road capability in response to customer feedback. Honda’s latest announcement also includes colors and pricing for the 2026 Honda CRF300L Rally dual-sport.

Honda’s E-Clutch, now standard on the Transalp, allows clutchless upshifting and downshifting while maintaining a physical clutch lever for the rider to use when wanted. The system works by adjusting ignition timing and fuel injection based on things like vehicle speed, throttle-opening angle, engine rpm, pressure on the shift pedal, and more parameters. When the rider uses the shift pedal to change gears, the E-Clutch automatically manages clutch control for smooth shifts. When the rider uses the clutch lever, E-Clutch is switched off for a few seconds before automatically switching back on.

Riders can also adjust the shift feel by selecting from Hard, Medium, and Soft settings, each of which can be selected independently for upshifting and downshifting.

The 2026 Transalp also adds new compression and rebound damping adjusters for the fork and shock, making the Transalp’s suspension fully adjustable front and rear. The 43mm Showa Separate Function Fork-Cartridge inverted fork offers 7.9 inches of travel, and the Showa shock with Pro-Link offers 7.5 inches of adjustment. Ground clearance is 7.7 inches.

The new standard skidplate is constructed from 2.5mm aluminum. Everything else returns from the 2025 model.

The Honda Transalp is powered by a 755cc parallel-Twin with a 270-degree firing order. Ride modes include Sport, Standard, Rain, Gravel, User 1, and User 2. The two user-customizable modes allow riders to adjust settings for engine power (four levels), engine braking (three levels), ABS (two levels), and traction control (five levels), and wheelie control can be turned off. These settings can be adjusted via the full-color TFT screen that offers three display styles and Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity.

Stainless-steel spoked wheels are in 21-inch front and 18-inch rear sizes, and the tires are tube-type. The bike’s curb weight is 468 lb, and the seat height is 33.7 inches.
