... can't even hear well without my coffee... :coffee:

G'Day...

4°/8°C, gray overcast, damp, dense fog... 🌫️

home Nespresso was a blast... ☕
the office Nescafé barely cutting it... ☕

black air in ze morning on the way to the office, black air in ze afternoon when driving home again... 🌃
And now that fog engulfing everything like in the Carpenter novel...
Made a strange observation in oncoming traffic though:
regular headlights emit two fingers of light, aimed downward, enhancing the road surface ahead of the vehicles...
those with the, obviously non directional LEDs however, have just a tall, glaring wall of light in front them, just as if having HIGH beams on...
So how can they (safely) navigate in fog while continuously blinding themself?

Gifted myself with a BD box for Xmas this year: Masters Of The Air...
Owning and really enjoying the prequels (BOB & TP, as well as Memphis Belle) I'm really looking forward to it...
Especially as its kinda hard to get, apparently never officially released on disk...

Have a nice start into the week!

G'morning, all. More coffee, please!

It's c-c-cold. -20°C/0°F. That will eventually warm up to a few degrees below freezing, and we'll see some sunshine for most of the day. Then, more snow tonight.

Gotta run - I'm working a part-time gig in the city centre and it takes a while to get there. Started yesterday. More on that later. Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Happy Birthday, Ted! :)

Patty

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the early weekday coffee Martin. Monday, Tuesday... they're about the same to me.

It's 15°F in Rockville and feels like 14. It might be clear, as the weather app claims: sunup is still a quarter of an hour away but there's definite lightness in the sky already. Were it overcast as yesterday there either wouldn't be or it'd be far less obvious. The less-cold will top out right at the freezing mark, then descend to about 29 and remain there overnight.

Yesterday's physical went alright, but they noticed a bit of rough idle in my EKG (sticky valve? bad ignition harness? fouled or faulty spark plug?) so I'm to report back this morning to be fitted with a real-time continuous monitoring device to provide more data for them to chew on. I hope it doesn't interfere with my ankle monitor.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the cup, Martin.

Back to somewhat normal temperatures today, as it reaches a sunny 47. I hope it hurries up, since it’s only 29, now.

More trips to the dump today, as I rid the house of unneeded items. Do I really need a dozen tablecloths, along with matching place mats? NO! Do I really need 47 assorted coffee mugs? YES!

@ibike2havefun Keith, make sure the Doc cleans out the 5-way Tee.

John

Thx Martin, we hear you!

7a˚c/45f, fog, calm.

Cooking, cleaning and picking up Peter.

Have a good one, and if you’re working part time as Santa on a mall, please don’t scare the children.

@Weaselinsuit Happy birthday!!!!!

Stu

@ibike2havefun Peter’s playing the song « It’s probably old fuel» for you. Hoping for the best.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's sunny and 7f iMA this morning, clouding up later as the temperature rises to 26. Brenda.

I spent yesterday on and off at the hospital with Brenda, and we had a visit from our daughter and SIL, who were in town for business meetings.

Brenda had a visit from the pulmonary team, and they were saying that she might be released, today. Fingers crossed.
She's improving, although she still has a cough.
I've got her clothes and coat ready to go, just in case.

Freya is sleeping across my legs, and as soon as she wakes, I'll be back wrestling with laundry and the vacuum, before seeing Brenda.

She was saying that if she did get released , early enough, she might try to go bowling. It's also our make-up first Tuesday. We'll see .

@Weaselinsuit, happy birthday!
@ibike2havefun, good luck with the cardio check.

Have a great day,
Steve

Thanks Martin, the Black Rifle is available (until I leave for work) if your office can't get its coffee act together.
Never mild, never weak, and it never sits in the pot long enough to burn.
Below freezing here too, and we'll see 50-something later today. (Wishing I was 50- something again.)
It's a regular Tuesday, too, just cold.
So today I learned Weasels have birthdays too... who knew?
Enjoy, and let them eat cake.
Cake is always better with ice cream.
You can keep the candles, though.
You know you're getting old when the candles cost more than the cake.
Have a good day everyone and Ted, don't burn yourself.

Morning all....just! Grey out there today but at least its not raining....yet.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. We are going with small LED candles for the birthday cake, safety first! I received the dashcam kit that I bought a couple weeks for my birthday present. Pre-selection of presents has improved their quality immeasurably :D

Hope everyone has a great day!

I'm back, yep, it's after 11PM. We had a good trip.

I saw a bunch of my cousins. Many I didn't even recognized.

So we buried my aunt yesterday and today was my mom's (heavenly) birthday.

The blessing is that I know they are rejoicing, being together again with all of their family! :smile-2x:

I'll check in, in the morning!
