Good morning everyone

Would you help me welcome in Sunday with a cup of Cubano roast by local-to-me roasters Mayorga Coffee, please?

It's 75°F and cloudy in Rockville, and already feels a trifle warmer. the high will be "just" 81 that feels like 87, with rain showers predicted from noon onward. That makes me glad to have got my bicycle ride in yesterday, even though there's only about an hour where the actual chances of rain are above 50 percent.

What'll I do today? I dunno, but it'll be "summat" as our North Yorkshire friend would've said.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

We’ve had the coldest July in twenty years, and that’s ok, I like to breath freely.
Miss the swims though…

in the afternoon the plan to visit a befriended MC mech friend, who's clearing his old farmhouse over moving into a flat...
first I'll have to search in the attic for my ST1100 P-spec single seat kits... :police2:
likely also nicking off oils, sprays & service liquids, consumables, possible some tools... 🪛🔧🧰🔩⚙️

gonna be confined to ze GF's place again next week, as daughter's #1 cat has been exiled to here again... 🐈

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.
Alarm Cat woke me at around 5;50, so I could feed them, and she could get some early pets.

It's mostly cloudy this morning and the temperature is 70. It'll remain overcast, and the temperature will reach 81.
We'll also see 10-15 mph winds.

Yesterday's 85 degree temperature felt all of that, on the track. I spent the day hydrating, and the microfibre cloth was soaked in ice water and applied liberally. We had an ambulance called for a driver in the infield, who apparently was suffering from heat-related issues. He took a ride to the local hospital.
Racing-wise, it was a busy day, with 80+ cars on-track. Things went pretty well, but the first crash happened to end up across from my flag station. Two cars collided with each other, and then one hit the Armco fencing. One left under his own power while the other was towed.
Most of the rest of the issues were spin outs, but close quarter driving led to a few other crashes.
Since I was stationed at turn 11b, which is just before pit-in, I got to keep track of everything going on, so I could call in the cars who were pitting after an incident.

Today will be a shorter day, with an 11:00am start time and a 5:00pm stop.
Brenda has plans to visit her brother and his partner at their new home, while I'm at the track.
We'll head to our favorite local Chinese/Japanese restaurant, afterward, for dinner.

Welp, the weather may well put the kibosh on today's plans for a birthday lunch with friends...we're expecting sustained, very heavy rain and thunderstorms (80% chance) and metro Montreal is under a localized flood risk alert. We'll see what things look like in a few hours and decide whether to risk it or postpone. Certainly not the end of the world!
As well as soggy, it's also going to be hot and muggy as heck today. It's currently only 23°C/73°F but feels like 28°C/82°F, and the high will be 27°C/81°F with a stifling feels-like of 35°C/95°F.

Happy birth anniversary, Pats!
Thanks for the kicker, Keith. I'm wondering if we'll be allowed to visit Cuba - voluntarily - in our lifetime.
Could be getting closer, who knows.
Yesterday I got the new upper and lower radiator hoses replaced in the Element, which turned out much easier than moving stuff out of the way in the engine compartment to get to them for removal.
Unfortunately, both hoses were still in decent shape, no splits or damage I could find, so I still don't actually know what happened when the thing overheated and puked out all its coolant last December.
Also bought a new battery for over a hunnert bucks - insert smacking forehead emoji here - and 2 gallons of antifreeze mix.
I DID remember to close the coolant drain at the bottom of the radiator.
Yay me!
As I mentioned earlier this week, or maybe Friday, "it's the little wins that keep us going." Maybe add to that, "and encourage us to try even more stoopit s#!t."
So I'll put the metal support frame in to hold the radiator, and the hood latch, leaving off the upper and lower plastic trim pieces for now, and see if I can get most of the air out of the radiator after refilling the glycol juice.
Oh.
And I got soaked three times yesterday, once when I was working on it all in the driveway, then going into Costco, and again leaving.
As I was already pretty grody and sweaty, the rain felt good.
Well, that's life, and it occurred to me that farmers, utility repair guys, athletes, and others who work outside deal with getting wet all the time.
No biggie.
Actually, with the inside shower after all that, yesterday, it was four times.
The last one was voluntary.
It's all good.
Now let's see if the Element will run again.
Will my little wins compile into a big win?

Good Morning, happy Birthday Patty! I picked a good day then to get back on the thread. Been busy ( lazy) with fixing stuff, and riding. Wife and Precious have been at the Vacation trailer down south. Went to take care of Precious yesterday,so Sharon could watch the Sand sculpture contest, that will keep me out of the dog house for a while. Spent a hour in the line up to cross the border, thankfully it stayed dry. Started that four letter word just after I got to the trailer.
Today's agenda, Church and a ride, 60 F mix of Sun and clouds, possibility of showers from 10 am to 12 noon. Y'all have a great day G

We were very lucky yesterday for a celebration out at the Lake we great weather and lots of sunshine only had the wind start up as people were heading out
Had to hustle back to get the canopy buttoned down for yet another downpour and raining since fortunately I got everything done for the journey back while the sun was shining
I think they had 550 mm in two months here around Edmonton I don't think weve seen that ever in the lower mainland
On the brighter side we had a food truck that did a great job
Wish everyone a happy sunday and safe travels if you're out there
quite a variety of wild flowers weeds are liking it at least

Failed thermostat, maybe? Hard to think of any other likely culprit. Most owners of ST1300s understand that t-stats aren't Mother Honda's strongest component... :) DAMHIK.
 
Morning Keith & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 89F, heading for 99F. Yesterday it hit 104F in the Sun. Today, I expect it close to that. There is a slight breeze now, later the winds will be from the SW @ 16 to 27mph.

I set up my portable air conditioner in the garage yesterday. I was able to keep the temp in there below 90F. So that was a good thing. Today, I won't set it up until around 6pm. We'll see what happens.

Church today, and taking it easy for the rest of it.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ for the morning start. Pepsi(s) will be for later.

Might be hard to discern now, but if it puked out from the reservoir, I'd hazard to guess a failed radiator cap. It'll let coolant flow into the tank but not back into the system. So, the resevoir overfills while the level in the radiator falls causing it to overheat.

G'dafternoon y'all! It's a slow Sunday here in SoMD. It is dark and stormy here, so can't do much outside. Doing some 3D model stuff and other cleaning up. Throw some laundry in. Got woke up early by the Prince Of Purrsia (of course), so the coffee is working extra hard to push through a metabolically longer day. Thanks Keith!

Probably throw some laundry in and scrounge up some dinner...I dunno. Anything to stave off that feeling of a wasted day. Take care y'all!
 
@Sadlsor make sure to completely wash away any spillage from the glycol if Kaiser's going to be around. The stuff is toxic to animals and yet supposedly sweet enough to lure them in. My wife's cousin had a dog that was killed by glycol poisoning.
