I have purchased an 2003 ST1300 which does not have an electric windshield. Does anyone know of a source where I can obtain the parts to add one to my bike. Thanks - DavidT

I bought my kit from Cal Sport Touring, but I thought I'd heard they don't sell them anymore. I see on their web-site they still sell their wiring harness. Scroll down about half way on both links below to see the windshield info:

I don't see the whole kits (harness, relays, switches, motor, etc) on their web-site, but they do list the parts you need along with the same instructions that came with my kit. Check it out here:

I'd give them a call and ask if they still sell the kits. Gotta warn you though, my kit took a good three months to show up. I think their supplier for the modified handlebar switch was slow. I think the conversion cost is over $600 now. Well worth it, tho. I use mine all the time.

I put on Kim's kit, back in 04/05? As I recall it is about 90% original Honda parts. So, I would think that the current way of getting some custom parts and instructions plus original parts from the dealer should work OK.
Like most projects, the first time took me a long time...8-10hrs. If I was to do it again, it would be 4-5 hrs.
It does work great! I use it all of the time. I really like it.

Calsci still list it I believe. I have an ongoing issue with a local dealer. They told me they could do the install and had me make a deposit on the motor and control. Yesterday, I got a call saying that I needed to pick the bike up because it couldn't be done. Oh...They also mentioned that John Boy had several hours in tear down and would have more in re-assembly. I told them that it sounded like a personal problem to me and that I would not be paying for parts or labor since they had told me they could do it and since I would be picking up the bike exactly the way I dropped it off. So, looks like I'm stuck with no electric shield, looking at the calsci option, or trading for an 03 ABS or 07, as everyone knows silver is the faSTeST. :03biker:

Bygdawg,

I did mine here at the house with the factory parts. Ordered them from Honda via the part numbers that CalSci said to order. Then sent the left hand switch to CalSci for the mod that he has to make, then did the install one afternoon. It's really not that hard. If you like you can take a trip to the North Ga Mtns and we can do it here if you like. I work out of the house so I'm flexible. And I have guest room and bath if needed.

Way back in late 03, early 04 I did the Calsci install. Bought all the parts from my local dealer, sent the switch to Mark at Calsci for a "re-wire" Installed the system using Marks instructions. bout a 4hr job when I was a fresh ST Owner, first time plastic pull. Been working great for over 70,000 miles, except for wearing out a (Honda Part) drive gear in the lift assy. I would recommend Marks system & do it over again if needed.

Don't think I might not take you up on the offer. First, I'll have to see where I get with the dealership.

Thanks,

Bring it... You ever done an Audiovox Cruise? Me and GeorgiaST are talking about getting together one day to do that to my bike. We can have a GA/AL TechSToc.

I did my '03 in '04 with a kit from CalSci and it is the best mod I have done. I am not great at electronics and Mark was very helpfull on the phone. It has been working fine for five years.

Never done the cruise control, but it would be a nice addition. You'd think Honda would at least offer it as an option.

DavidT, if you still have the need, I have a left switch assy. that has the lift switch in it. Let me know. willymakit

Well...three weeks later from the drop off date, and I now have a ST 1300 with an electric shield and hazard lights. As for now, everything seems to be working perfectly. I'm pretty happy with this dealer install. :D
