this morning the coffee didn’t quite wake me up...
It looked around, sighed, and moaned “This again?”... :coffee:

G'Day...

6°/12°C, overcast, rain, strong, gusty winds... 🌧️🌪️
the severe thunderstorms predicted/warned about yesterday did however not occur...

home and office Joe as lifeline... :coffee:

filled up the car this morning, as they (legally) raise prices at noon...
and before the weekend... and before holidays... and when there rumors about someone's flatulence...
still € 1.864,-/ltr (€ 7.05,-/gal US)... :cautious:

we also now see more and more of those "pay at the pump" stations...
but obviously designed by total nerds... maybe intentionally, just to annoy people...
you press [pay at the pump]...
you press "yes" on [want a printed receipt?]...
it signals [present card]... you hold it to the reader...
it beeps and signals [ready]...
the display resets its liter and Euro screen...
you grab the nozzle to hang it into the filler...
nothing happens...
it signals [ready]...
it signals [present card]... oh pleeeeze !!! ...
again you tap the card to the reader...
it signals [ready]...
then it shows [please enter PIN]... finally we're getting somewhere...
the friggen display resets again...
finally the pump starts growling... pfffff...
after filling up and hanging the nozzle back in... you wait...
it takes like 40 seconds till it spits out that receipt... pfffff...

the process would actually be significantly faster by paying at the cashier inside... :cautious:

office, dull...
lingering for the first person who actually dares to urge me to perform a task:
"... hold it... need to confirm if my paycheck has arrived... no... sorry, can't do anything till this omission is corrected..."
yeah, we're playing that again... :censored:

anyhoo... as long as I've a full mug :coffee: 😎

the fact that we only have 4~5 Hours after work before having to prepare for bed,
only to do it all over again the very next morning, feels like such a scam...

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the start, Martin.

It's 42°F (brrr!) and clear in Rockville but will reach about 70 later on. Thursday's below-average performance excepted, I like the trend of the next several days' high temperatures:

Goof once again dominates my day's agenda, with online card games to follow this evening. Before goof some uke practice would be in order.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, Martin .

It's 44 with partly cloudy skies, rising to 62, later.

I put off most of yesterday's planned tasks, but did make it to Home Depot and Ocean State Job Lot. Got the wood glue and 8 new solar lights for the walks.
I also bought replacement batteries for the deck lighting, since one was out and some of the rest were dim. I took the one which doesn't light apart to see how to replace the batteries, and now it lights! I'll replace them, anyway, but maybe not today.

I've got a follow-up appointment with my PCP, but I'll find something to do , before.

Have a great day ,
Steve

@ST1100Y Pay at the pump is designed to help stop the pump-and-drive-off folks.

Folks feel when the price becomes too high, they are entitled to free gasoline. (or food, or tools, or whatever items are in a store....)
