Apparently with this last patch, Google believes I am their child. I was halfway home on my motorcycle when all sound from my phone shuts off. No response from headset controls. When I get home, there is a notice that Android has reduced my volume to a safer level. In their mind, apparently 'mute' is the safe level. I went online, found all the rants and changed all the setting everyone, including Google, said would turn this off. Then today, it did it again. So I called Google. Their response was to tell me how it's for my safety and I don't need to disable it. I told them I don't need an explanation, I need to turn the feature off. I know why they did it and they are wrong.
I can protect my hearing just fine without Mommy Google's help. I understand that wearing earplugs and a headset only makes sense in communities like ours, but, seriously, my settings are none of their business.
So I've now eliminated nearly every permission Google has, effectively turning it into a flip phone. When it dies, I'll get a flip phone. If I can't use it reliably on my motorcycle it's useless to me, since I use laptops everywhere else.
