Jackets Any regrets about hi-viz yellow jackets?

I just checked my machine, I don't have that cycle... what brand washer do you have and where can I get one?

.

It's a Whirlypoo, that particular cycle is about half way between the "Hand Washable, intermittent agitation" and the "Heavy Duty, excessive agitation" cycles.
Actually that was a "high spin" off of a previous post typo and I was trying to get a few more miles out of it before it gets down to the wear bars. I could explain if I get to go to CampSToc.......... My mother has not decided if I can go or not. :D

Same as the rest for me: wish I'd got my Motoport gear sooner. Definitely like the increased visability.

I do feel like others can see me much better with my hi-vis jackets and white helmet. I know that if you ride with others, if the others are wearing hi-vis, it makes it very easy to spot them in your mirror or way up the road in front of you.

You have won at least half the battle if THEY can see you. I have seen statistices that prove that 99.9357% of all cagers will do their best not to kill you if they see you first. I feel naked without my hi-vis jacket (Transition 2) on while riding.
It does show dirt easily but I just remove the armour and throw it in the washer on the genital cycle for cleaning. YMMV :D

My machine does not have a genital cycle - What should I do!

I don't have the genital cycle on my machine, either. Must be for people with naked bikes. Or maybe for people with Bushwacker jackets.

Be seen,Be safe thats my motto,Adding a white Crash helmet to finish off soon,I also wear the Hi-Viz Yellow jackets.

:confused:It usually starts by stickn out errr.... is this really a jacket thread
Next will likely be AST in neon highlighter. In a group ride you can see how much more noticeable it is.

Love my Airglide II. Had a girl at a Cycle Gear one morning (right after they opened), groggily tell me, "It's way too early for me to look at that jacket."

Last night going to dinner with the wife (in my cage), I saw another cage driver at an intersection wearing a hi-viz shirt (I'm guessing it was a bicycling shirt). Even in the cage approx. 75 yards away, that hi-viz stuck out and caught my attention.

If I go off the side of a mountain and my helicopter is looking for my crumpled body during "the golden hour", I hope I'm wearing hi-viz at the time.

Hi-Viz yellow - that's it for me. One suit, all the time.

As for washing without a gentle cycle . . . normal wash cycle is fine for my Stich. Pull the pads out, throw in wash, no softener of any kind, hang up to dry then re-spray with Scotch Guard for waterproofness.

As noted by others, I get frequent comments when I stop for grub or gas. Usually fireman or alien related and once asked if I was working with a hazmat crew anywhere nearby. It's definitely a non-threatening color that sparks friendly conversations with strangers - a really good thing.

I have a front loader... Used Niwash, then Nikwax... cleaned the AST pretty good.

Before I got the front loader, I ran to a laundromat and washed my Motoport in a front loader there. The lady that ran the place kept looking at me strange because a white guy was in there washing a hi-viz lime green jacket... that was it... LOL!!!

Hi-viz is very safe. I also think hi-viz is to long distance riders as black leather is to cruiser riders. If Mellow and the "Moonshine Hip Hop Gang" wear hi-viz, How can you go wrong?
