I would love a GS, but as you can´t ride off road here, I´m unable to justify it to myself.

How come? Is everything covered by concrete and asphalt ?

It's getting to be the same here in California. More and more of the forest are being closed to the general public. Lots of heavy steel gates going up. A lot of the forest are now being called 'National Monuments'.
