We often used Pledge on aircraft acrylic with success. Haven't tried it on my windshield or visor though.

I wash with a weak mixture of Blue Dawn dish soap,in a spray bottle. Then polish with Plexus , found it works better than Meguriers Plastix which works acceptable, Plastix is good on removing fine scratches.
