I agree Jeff. I was impressed with the quality of my old Nolan N100, but it didn't fit me well (too round). I have a Fulmer MB flip up that fits me perfectly and is very comfortable, but it's such a poorly made POS that I rarely wear it and keep thinking about planting a cactus in it. Bell seems to offer me the fit I need and decent quality too. Even the $79 Bell Arrow I use for snowmobiling fits me as well as my Star, and its quality makes it a great value. I'm sure Arai makes a helmet that I'd be happy with, but I have a hard time spending so much $$$ on something that needs replacing every few years.
 
Mondo got one. I don't think he can speak to the HJC question but he would let you know how he likes it I'm sure.
 
I wish mine worked out but it hurts the top of my head after a few hours. I think a rounder head would be better so the pressure is more even. For the $109 they're going for it isn't much of a risk to try one.

It is somewhat narrow as opposed to round but not as much as the HJC. There is also not as much chin clearance as the HJC. It worked for me on my 500 mile trip this weekend, so now I will transfer the Scala to it and continue to see how it does. It is well made for $109 shipped and I like modulars.

$79 Black Friday special at Motorcycle Superstore! How could I resist? I won't get to try it out on the ST until spring, although they do offer an electric heated snow shield for it and snowmobile season is almost here.
 
The $79 revolver arrived today. It might be just a little less narrow than the Star, but has much nicer padding. It felt good wearing it around the house anyway.

For those thinking about getting either of these helmets, the Star is very well made but the padding is not what I'd describe as luxurious. While my Star fits me very well, it can still get uncomfortable on long rides. I don't get any particular hot spots but I can feel the shape of the air channels in the rigid foam liner through the thin padding. For a non flip up Bell helmet, the RS-1 or Vortex might offer more comfort. I think Bell made the Star more for road racing than touring.

It will be ten months (after next riding season is done) before I can really compare the Revolver to the Star. A bonus for me is the shields interchange between the two.
 
I hope it works for you. Mine feels great when I put it on. The longer I wear it the heavier it feels pushing down on the top of my head.
 
I picked up a revolver last spring and also found it feels good at first but I can only wear it for 40 minutes or so, then it hurts the top of my head. I suppose that's cause its narrow? Paid more than $79 :(. So the search is on for a new one. You ought to be able to go somewhere and get your head shape measured and get matched to helmet models.
 
Has anyone used the Scala Rider Q2 multiset with the Revolver, just ordered one for the munchkins and hoping the Q2 will fit, it appears the sunshield button may be in the way. Let me clarify, already have the Q2, ordered the Revolver.
 
Tight, but it works .

The Scala sounds great and has plenty of volume if the speaker placement is good but the

ear holes didn't center on my ear and there was too much distance between the ear and the speaker.

I used a 3/8ths foam spacer to make the placement work .
 
I just just a flyer in the mail from Bell. After looking at this helment i am liking it a lot. Hoping it will work with a J& m head set.
 
As posted earlier, Bell has come down a very long way from what they used to be, a top quality motorcycle and autosports helmet.

Take a look now to see if any current racers in any form of motorsports or motorcycle racing still use Bell helmets.

I may be wrong but I think they are few and far between.

At this point in time I would not even buy a Bell helmet for a 6 year old riding a small bicycle.
 
I liked the looks of that helmet but when I tried it on it just wasn't the right shape for my head and the padding seemed kinds thin. I'm sur eit fits some guys just right. You gotta try these things on, I would never order one online without trying one on in person. Good luck.
 
Well I ordered helmets for the wife and kids. Real happy with the fit and everything for the price. I installed the Scala Q2 and it fit. Did have to add foam inside for the speakers to move them closer to their ears. I was happy with the helmet and was debating whether to order one for me or order the Scorpion EVO900, after reading reviews on all and figuring the price difference (even though much cheaper at Two brothers) I went ahead and ordered a Bell Revolver for me too. At $99.00 I think it is a good deal, it seems to be about the same quality if not better than the Vega I have been using. So once I have it and wear it on the bike I post a review but from the appearance of the wife and kids I think it will be equal if not better than the one I have been using.
