Being a new owner of a St, I've been reading this site and the Msn site, been learning alot. Somewhere along the way I read about lowering the angle of the brake pedal, after a couple of 200+ mile rides, this is for me. Can anyone direct me to the imformation, I confess haven't checked the owners manual for this.

Thanks
Mike

You won't find it in the owners manual Mike. You'll need the service manual for the ST1300 specific directions, but if all you want to do is lower the pedal then you should only need to adjust the stop bolt and jam nut that controls this angle. This is near the back portion of the brake pedal. Most bikes work like that, but I confess that I can't recall the exact configuration of the ST1300. Take a look at your pedal. You should find the bolt near the pivot point of the pedal - it serves to change the angle of the pedal. Make sure you check that your brake light works well after adjusting it. You may have to move the switch down a bit. Again - that would be a jam nut afair.

I'm sure someone will jump in to give you more specific advice. If not, PM me and I can copy the page(s) out of the service manual for you.

Thank you for the excellent instuctions Jefro. I just installed a pair last night and noticed the same adjustments needed. I was wondering if you also encountered your left heal hitting the kickstand and what you may have done to correct that?

TIA

Bob

I'm glad you got the adjustments you needed.
The sidestand has not been a problem for me when riding, but it is a bit more difficult to deploy when parking.
The peg lowering kit really has saved my knees on long rides, and I have yet to scrape the pegs around corners.
Jefro.
