Odd Years
Let's talk business: covid, tariffs, and China outbound bans. What a way to start the year. As a local mechanic that specializes in keeping ST fleets on the road it's that time of year where I get bombarded with requests for new tires. And with the 40% markup on what is left in dealer inventory, here's what I can get from the warehouses.

[As of May 1, 2025]
Let's remind everyone the standard size is front 120/70ZR-18 rear 170/60ZR-17.

Michelin Road 6 - 202.99 / 268.99
Metzeler ME888 - 223.99 / 298.99
Dunlop Roadsmart 4 - 254.99 / 294.99
Dunlop Roadsmart 3 - 191.99 / 233.99
Bridgestone T32GT - 203.99 / 229.99
Bridgestone T33 - 209.99 / 245.99
Shinko 011 Verge - 114.99 / 143.99
Metzeler Roadtec Z8 - 154.99 / 299.99
Bridgestone Exedra MAX - 135.99 / 249.99
Bridgestone Battlax BT-020 - 194.99 / 241.99
Avon Spirit ST - 191.99 / 203.99

**Michelin lists the Road 4 and 5 as discontinued. Your shopping experience may vary. Sales and coupons will affect MSRP.

Not sure what your point is, are you selling tires? Or commenting on costs?

$500 for a set of tires isn't a new thing for the past few years.

Not surprising. Why would the dealership, do anything but raise the prices of their current stock, while they can? :censored:

After sacrificing my new set of PR4s to another member (1.5 years ago), I went looking for another set of PR4s. I found a front tire, no problem, but there were no 170/60ZR-17s anywhere to be found. So I settled for a 180/55ZR-17. At the same time, I picked up a pair of Shinkos. I have both sets, getting ready to be put on my 2012 & the AZ05, once I get it road ready.

Keep up the good work! :hat3:

Commenting on the price increase. My customers are complaining loudly that a sub 150 tire last year is now over 200.

I got a set of Avon Spirit ST tires in the sizes you mention for $275 shipped from Americantiremoto.com

Front: $134.29
Rear: $141.52

And I put them in a cart to check sales tax charged: $0.00

EDIT: I have purchased this set in the past for my 94. The shipping was quite literally the next day. That’s how fast they got to my house. So I would definitely use them again when I need tires.

That's a really good find!! Looking at the book price they are $191/203 I will add this to the main list.

Get used to higher prices and it started a long time before tariff talk. Anything manufactured new is just going to cost more because the dollar is worth less thanks to inflation. It's hitting everything from food and tires to building supplies and vehicle sales and if you are expecting prices to come down you can stop waiting. They are here to stay unless we have full on deflation which would be worse.
