Dunno... blew my fork seals on such... so in my POV not so much...
Yeah. That locktite paste stuff. Used it on my last two shaft drive motorcycles.
Yamaha had the famous "red dust" issue if you didn't keep them clean and lubed up on every tire change.

Those 'consumables' are still around, things like NOS fork bottoms getting sparse though...

@ST1100Y recommends the replacement rings and, like you, I checked out the website and it only shows shipping within the USA. However, an email to the boss and he was quite happy to ship to the UK @ $US 8.50 a set + approx $20 postage USPS First Class tracked. The set includes the three oil seals plus thrust washer. So, rather than just buy two sets for my 1100s I bought 10 sets. Just arrived today, no import duty as within our duty free allowance, so total cost to me £79.70. That's not bad at £7.97 a set. The 3 OEM oil seals from Fowlers cost approx £14, thrust washer another £8.50.
So I now have a few spare sets.
