Good morning everyone

There's French roast brewing for you on this, the 84th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Have a cup and reflect on what that event triggered, and how the world has changed in the generations since.

It's 29°F and cloudy in Rockville, going to the low 40s with gradual clearing.

Today is the day the local chapter of the Japanese American Citizen's League hold their annual winter gathering. I'm on taxi duty, shuttling volunteers from the Metro to the venue and back.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Thanks for the French Roast Keith, much appreciated.31 degrees here in central NY heading to 36 with cloudy skies this morning then snow showers later in the day. Not much on the calendar today, breakfast with my riding group and a trip to the store for a few essentials. Have a great day all and be safe out there. Later!

Coffee, the dark matter that holds the universe together... :coffee:

G'Day...

3°/8°C today, the heavy morning fog has lifted, now we've the sun out...

Double Nespresso caffeinated... ☕

Its that time of the year...
The FM stations blaring Wham, Mariah Carey, Jose Feliciano, etc... 24/7...
You've to scrape and wipe your car windows every time you want to go somewhere...
Particular areas of the city are gridlocked by foreign coaches and crowds... police forces patrolling with dogs and automatic weapons...
Ze GF's neighbor has his house lit up like an offshore rig... again...
Not only could you easily read a newspaper out there, our 800W PV system reports producing 7W... at midnight... pfffff...

SSD transplant on GF's laptop went well...
While still in the cloning process, DIL appeared... demanding coffee... with his silent, upset stare...
"WHAT YA DOING THERE?!" staring at cables and Sabrent SATA adapter on the table like at a turd in fresh snow...
Cloning, to replace the nearly full 250GB disk giving a failure warning...
"WHAT YA INSTALLING?!"
handed him the 500GB Samsung EVO 870 packing...
"PFFF! HOW MUCH IS THAT?!"
€ 85,-...
"BAH!! I NEVER PAID MORE THEN 25,- FOR A DISK!!!"
yup... exactly the reason why, after not even 4 years, that cheap YK brand made of chinesium is now keeling over... ;)

GF out in the garden, rummaging, cleaning up a little here and there...

Me, mulling over what to have for lunch...

enjoy your Sunday!

Good morning, but it'll be a while for my coffee.

We were shopping, yesterday, when Brenda found herself unable to breathe. We ended up going to the hospital at around 7:00 last night, and are still here. It looks like she's stabilized, but she'll be staying for a day or so.

As soon as she's in a room, I'll head home, feed the cat, and go to bed.

Oh, and it's cloudy and 28, going to 37.

Have a great day
Steve

That was the best thing to do, sometimes we don’t go get help when we should!
Take good care of Brenda!

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith, on this solemn day of remembrance.

Mix of sun and clouds this morning, snow this afternoon/evening, and...BRRRR. This feels more like January-February than early December! The current temp is -14°C/7°F but feels like -19°C/-2°F and the high will be an almost as frigid -10°C/14°F with a feels-like of -15°C/5°F.

@steve3b3: Wow, I hope Brenda's OK!! Sending you both hugs, my friends. Let us know.

Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Good Morning, healing prayers for Brenda. To early for my brain to work, oh yeah Coffee should be ready. Thanks Keith for coffee. Cloudy and rainy at 46 F high 50 F, might see some sun after 2 pm says the Phone app. Yesterday's ride started with Lady taking a Short Nap , forgot about a tractor parked in my turn around area, opps. No new damage, bit more on the Plastic part over the Napping bar. Fortunately Someone was at the Airport to give me a lift. Not much more going on today, stay healthy, G

Keith thanks for the coffee. I need it! Just in from 1 handed shoveling last nights snow.

Stu sorry for your loss.
Steve hope Brenda is better and gets out quickly.

My Dobie is fine, no Vet needed. Thanks all for your thoughts.

I'm beat from fourth day of 1 handed shoveling in a row. Coffee, shower, and nap for me. Packers are on this afternoon.

Have a great day everyone and be safe out there.

@steve3b3 here's my best wishes for Brenda. Not being able to breathe is not good (as if you needed to be told) so I hope it's just a one-off.

I eventually left Brenda in the ER at 8:30 to come home and feed Freya.
Brenda has had coughing spells for the past few months, and was diagnosed with asthma back in August. She and I went Christmas shopping at an open air mall and she had to constantly stop to catch her breath, to the point that I left her on the sidewalk to get the car.

She seemed so improve on the drive home, so we went to supper . Afterwards, she still didn't feel right, so I drove her to the hospital.

We got there around 7:30, and sat in the waiting room for the next 5 hours, when she again had trouble breathing , even with the oxygen she was supplied. I went for help, and the next thing I knew, she was in an ER room, surrounded by help.

They got an oxygen mask on, instead of the cannula, steroid injection, other medicines in the O2 tube, and by about 5:30, she was looking MUCH better.

I called, after a nap, and she still didn't have a room. I'll take care of business here, and head back in an hour or so.

Regards,
Steve

Morning Keith & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

The thoughts of December 7th 1941... :usflag1:

Steve, prayers for Brenda, that the doctors can take care of what is troubling her breathing!

We are heading for church soon, then heading for Ogden and my Aunt's funeral. So I will be absent for the next few days.
