Good morning, fresh good coffee for you!
Since I know things, and I fix stuff, I suddenly had to drive to Oslo.
Staying at a convent, nuns are making the coffee for us.
They are a nice and funny !

Todays high is 23˚c/73f, sunny, calm.

As already mentioned, fixing stuff is on the agenda.

grabbing rope and safety harness from the shed...
a friend's kitchen extractor hood shows decreasing performance, some rigging required to safely access the motor and inspecting/cleaning the blower wheel...
the duct/vent is located on the tin roof of their attic apartment at the 6th floor... a long way down, so I'll better strap in... 😎

And the owner of that green ST (the one with blown valve cover gaskets over the case vent being wrongly routed and crushed between frame and tank) contacted me again... :rolleyes:
this time the clutch failed to disengage... he's technically illiterate/doesn't care about maintenance, hence anything could be the culprit... lever, brass, MC, SC...
So the AA will flatbed his rig to my shed "... Friday... some-when between 0800 and 1400hrs..."...
I just love precise appointments... and spending my days off waiting... for something... ;)

Saturday then named roof climbing, plus servicing his 4-room multi split AC... 👨‍🏭

besides this, I'm pretty much going to have a free weekend... :roflmao:
ze GF is having the hyperactive, naughty hence feral grand-kid over... 🤾‍♀️🏓🏐🎊🏏🗯️🚴‍♀️
A cup that better passes by me... ;)

and now lets see what on contradictory and/or plain wrong work instructions/information we're going to receive today at that office... 😎

Yesterday's PT visit went off well. The lady who showed up is married to one of the expert racers at Loudon , so we got to chat about that a bit. She monitored my stair movements and verified that I really can get up and down in chairs and bed. She'll probably be back , once we decide what to do about the tendon.

Today will consist of a little more of nothing.

Good morning, all. Thank the nuns for our coffee Stu,

A little cool spell has arrived. It’s 51, but only reaching 62 today. Since it’s clear and sunny, I won’t complain.

I’ll spend the day rearranging the garage, now that the sidecar rig has found a new home. It took up almost the same area as a small car, so now I’ll have room to use my tablesaw and planer. I have no idea as to what I’d build, but at least I now have room.

Good morning everyone

thanks for the coffee, Stu and Sisters. I heard once about a priest and nun who were interested in one another and wanted to date platonically. They needed their respective superior's permission so they went to the abbot and abbess. After due consideration, the abbot gave permission for a limited period of time, with the additional admonition "Don't get into the habit."

It's 52°F and partly cloudy, partly sunny with a high of 64 is on tap so we're looking a lot like the Nashville area in that regard. Yesterday's rain arrived just as we were finishing our half-a-round of goof, and delivered about a half inch of much needed moisture. If the forecast is to be trusted and believed, that'll be it until next Wednesday or Thursday.

The top coat on the furniture project was still palpably soft in places yesterday so I didn't sand it as planned, nor did I add a second coat. Those things may / will happen today if the first layer is ready. Being Thursday it's also uke day, so that's my afternoon accounted for, and online bridge day with relatives so there's the evening taken up.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.
 
Happy Thursday, no drama going on down here, no long trips, or A/C or bike repairs, no conventional or convent visits, and while the heavy rains have ushered in a cold front -- 60° is far from barely above freezing, and except for a newly-missing tooth, all my carbon- based structural elements are still intact.

Chances of daily rain through the end of the month, but that's why someone started the whole "April showers" rhyme all those years ago. I don't know when that was coined, and don't much care, at least until I've finished my first cup of coffee. And probably won't care after that, either.

I did order a replacement phone holster, as the rubber case from Otterbox started to come apart, and they have a lifetime warranty on this model.

Signed up for the US Postal non-Service text alerts for tracking, and got daily updates on its trek from Colorado. It was to have been delivered yesterday, according to the text message yesterday morning... then later in the day I was informed that I could pick it up at the nearby Post Office.

I'm like, what? You know where I live, why can't you just bring it to the house like all our other mail!!

But that's not really elevated to the level of actual drama, that's just... life. So, once again I'm reminded... first world "problems." I'll choose to laugh, instead of being outraged, offended, or being a victim.

While I was briefly tempted to go pick up my prescription for the narcotic pain relievers for my tooth extraction, I rode right on by the drug store on the way home yesterday, having determined there's no pain, so there's no need for pain relief. I'll tell the pharmacy to keep them.

Have I used enough words yet? Is there a quota? Is there a limit? I think not, but 4 cats believe 6am is the same time as 7am, which is their actual feeding time, but they think all the time is feeding time, so they're screaming. Even the overweight girl cat.

Meanwhile, Kaiser simply looks at me with those soulful, soft, deep brown eyes, not demanding anything, like "I love you man, you are so cool, and you're the best thing that's ever happened in my life."

Good morning and thanks for the ecclesiastical coffee, Stu! Reminds me of one of my father's silly "dad jokes:" What fun do the monks have? Nun!

Cool and soggy are the words of the day here. It's been raining all night and it's still coming down, but should stop by 11 or so. And speaking of 11, which is the high for today (52°F), we've already reached it. Hmmm...I wonder what there is to eat for elevenses...

To say that my neighbours and I (and the residents of at least 2,000 other civic adresses in my municipality) are a tad annoyed at the moment would be like saying that Freddy Kruger was "unfortunate-looking." There have been 3, count 'em, 3 widespread power outages this week, all of which occurred between 2:30 and 4 a.m. and lasted close to or over an hour. Of course, as soon as the electricity goes off, the entire alarm system in the entire complex gets deactivated and the unit in each condo proceeds to chirp loudly every couple of minutes as if to say "Help! I've been deactivated!" The chirping eventually stops, even if the power is still off, so you think "Ahh, finally, I can roll over and go back to sleep and hope everything's back on by morning." Just as you've slipped back into REM sleep (or even deep sleep if it's been long enough), the power comes back on, causing the clock radio to blare some form of bizarre, atonal experimental music at you, the printer in your office nook to reset (loudly), and the insanely bright light that's part of the alarm system to come on and illuminate the entire apartment. So you punch a button to quiet the clock radio, get up to close the bedroom door against the floodlight and proceed, once again, to go back to sleep...only to have the alarm system joyfully announce that it's back in fine fettle with one last mega-chirp about a half hour later. Yep. Threeeeee times so far. Each time, the utility's app has cited the outage as an "equipment failure." Apparently, one of our residents sent them a message saying "Then fix the effing equipment!!" LOL. Oh, well. First world problems and all that.

@Peppermint At least you didn’t have the same power outage situation that I had. A couple of weeks ago, I woke up, and couldn’t breathe. When I opened my eyes, I was also blind…could see nothing. Full blown panic for a few seconds, as I feared that I was about to leave the world of the living. I finally realized the power was out, so no air through the CPAP and total darkness in the house. Pulled off the CPAP mask and all was fine, except for the part about going back to sleep.

Unlike Lancelot (who was absolutely relentless and implacable once I had stirred around 0400 hours), and despite her intense interest in food, rather to my surprise Brie is not at all insistent about waking me up to initiate the process. Once I actually haul my fat, aged carcass out from under the nice warm cocoon of blankets, however, she's omnipresent until her food bowl has been filled (and emptied) and some dry kibble has been tossed and chased down.

No idea what I will be doing today, Airport Grass needs cutting, face needs shaving, and a haircut perhaps, dog and cat need feeding. Sunny 9 C with a high of 21 C . Good morning from a small rural college town in ne Oregon where life is fairly normal, bordering on sublimely boring! I'll take it.
Beautiful morning with sunny skies and calm breezes. Starting at 43 warming to 70 as a riding buddy will be enjoying a RTE on the other side of the mountain, at a very cool 40's roadside burger joint. A great loop of mountain 2 lane road on the last day of April, and its true enough this year, "in like a lion..."
Have a wunnerful day, try to sneak in a nap Patti if you can. The rest of you, behave.

Morning Stu & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 53F, up from 43F and heading for 64F. No breeze yet, later the winds will be blowing out of the N@ 16 to 23mph.

As I am preparing the front for the ground cloth & gravel, I had to move a sprinkler line from where I had ended it to where it could be useable. That meant digging 16 feet of trench (and these days, 5 minutes of digging and 15 minutes of catching my breath) then thinking it was a 1/2" line, I had thoughts of spending about an hour at Home Depot looking for what I needed, but after uncovering the line I found it was 3/4" and I looked in my shed and found 3 10' lengths of 3/4" sprinkler pipe and all the fittings I needed. Well, how about that. Then I went and grabbed the PVC cement. both cans dried up! :censored::censored::censored::censored:

But then, my neighbor was dragging his can, trash can, out to the street, so I asked him if he had any, and he did! :run1: So I was able to move the line over 7 feet, then back, under the fence, to the back yard and put three outlets on it for future use! :hat3: Then I had the task to fill the trenches and after filling the front, I was totally out of energy & breath and called it quits for the day. :hurt1:

Today, I'll continue prepping so I can put down the ground cloth and then start dropping the gravel on it. We'll see how far I get. :cautious:

I'll go fry me up a couple of eggs in a bit, add some bacon bits, toast some sourdough and pour some OJ. That should get me going. :) Then I'll have a Pepsi or two.
