Struggling to find a tire shop with my preferred tire (tyre) in stock. The Michelin Pilot Road 5 GT (some just call it the Road, without Pilot in the name.)
I only need a front for the '08 ST1300. 120 / 70ZR-18 ...don't want the 70ZRZ-17 that some sites list.
Used to buy from SWMoto in Arizona, but they've changed names / ownership and are now "Emoto Motorcycle Tires" and their website is for sh!+ (shyte). No phone, only email queries.
Also looked at Dennis Kirk, Walmart (thanks for nothing, Google), Revzilla (pricey, and only have the -17), Cycle Gear (availability undetermined), Amazon (not listed?! amazing), Chaparral (I've heard mixed reviews going back for YEARS! about chapmoto), and Ron Ayers (no Michelin at all listed?!)
I know things change! I know, I know already.
Where are we buying tires in the USA this week? I'm in Alabama, next door to Atlanta so I'm not out in the real boonies.
Thanks for any and all help!!! I need it!!!

Dang! I really like my PR5GTs. Sixes? W/O gt rating?
Any feedback on their new rendition?

Is this a contest to see how many posters can get the Road 5 name wrong?

Wondering the same, as I have the 5 GT in back, I prefer keeping them as a pair.
Help me out, here... how do you spell "OCD", again...?

Americanmototire.com: (it's Road 4, but should work?)

Bring it out here to Mississippi and we can swap it out on my NoMar, if you need it. Or shoot me a PM and have the tire shipped here directly so you can just ride out.

I appreciate it - really.
But I don't wanna back up... there's no Reverse on this pig!
Might go to the PR6.
I don't know what @dduelin was talkin' 'bout, with the "proper name." It's a tire! (tyre!)

Never used Road's
Are they noisy
Do they cup
Do they wear funny
Do the 6's come in our ST1300 OEM sizes
Do the 6's come in GT

Enquiring minds would like to know :think1:
1.) No more than other performance tires.
2.) Depends how you ride on them and maintain them.
3.) See 2.
4.) No.
5. ) See 4.

As I need the tire by Friday next, I bit the bullet and ordered from Chaparral. I called to ensure the 120/70zr-18 is in stock... and there was ONE left.
$211.35 delivered, about 50 - 60 dollars more than a couple years ago. Shipping from Memphis, which is the same zone as me so I'll only have to wait a day, once it clears the warehouse process. This "should" work, despite the fact I should have ordered a month ago.
I'd prefer NOT to hear from all you greedy hamburgers who would lovingly "share" the best deal they found online, thanks all the same.
Making no bones about it, my motto is "Never pay retail", and I just did.
SW-Moto, where were you when I needed you!
Guess I could let you know when it arrives, just to close out this query. Thanks to those who responded, and the NEXT go-round we'll move on the Michelin SIX Pilot Road / Road Pilot / Submarine Road / Road Pilot / Road / whatever name Dave Duelin wants to call it.

I just paid $220 CAD for a t32 FRONT to my door. I thought that was pretty steep but it was the lowest price I could find.

The Michelin Pilot 5 GT is expected to arrive by end of day this Wednesday. FedEx tracking number and everything.
That gives me 2 days to have it mounted, before I leave Friday to help marshall a triathlon on Saturday.
We're not expecting any blizzards or tsunamis between now and next week, so if those drivers can still drive, I should be ok.
I think I mentioned it's coming from Chaparral.
