I'm considering going dark next tire change. I have two questions:

1) All the threads I read talk about mounting a 205/70/17 to the ST 1300. Many people complain about rubbing. Tires are made in 195/50/17 size

Duplicate threads? You do know you can edit your original post if you need to change/update any info there... or simply add another post.

edit: unfortunately I don't have any info to help with the question.

1. What tire do you know of that comes in 195/50/17? Please provide a link. It should also be an all weather tire.

If you find a tire in that size that works:
2a. A 170/60/17 outside diameter (the part that hits the road) is 78.64 inches. THIS IS THE STOCK ST1300 TIRE.
2b. A 205/50/17 outside diameter (the part that hits the road) is 78.76 inches. (just bigger around)
2c. A 195/50/17 outside diameter (the part that hits the road) is 77.52 inches. This is over an inch difference. This will make the already off speedometer even worse and the bike will spin more revs to go a mile or go the same speed as a stock tire.

I don't want more revs per.

If you can't overcome the rubbing or the fix don't do it.

I’m running a 205/50/17 Pirelli P7. And I’ve got about a quarter inch between the tire and swingarm. And it’s the third one (might be the 4th, lost track), get about 25-30k miles each. I just now measured the outside diameter, it’s 79” and it’s about half wore out, so it would be more when it’s new.

Paying attention to the size marked on the tire is important, but you also need to look at the tire's profile. The Goodyear Triple Tread, for example is very "squared off" and much more likely to cause rubbing problems that other tires in the exact same size. I have run Bridgestone Driveguard run-flat tires with good swing arm clearance. I have a pirelli on now that is so rounded in profile that it's hard to tell I'm not on a bike tire. Plenty of clearance.
