Coffee simply tastes better on the weekend...
because then it's not a necessity...it's a reward... :coffee:

G'Day...

3°/13°C on this very sunny Saturday morning... 🌅

dunno what was the more cheerful soundstage this morning:
the screaming mini pterodactyls 🐦 or the hammer drills ⚙️ echoing from the construction site one block away... 🤔

anyhoo, I'm wide awake and various Nespresso compatible capsules to choose from... ☕
(ze GF and I are experimenting with alternatives to the, by now rather expensive OEM Nespresso rounds...
Swiss made Café Royal (got 4x36 at 25% discount) and German Eduscho are the current favorites...)

Home made bread 🍞, local tub butter 🧈, fresh cut chives (already growing in the garden 😎), a few colored hard-boiled Easter Eggs are still around 🪺 🧂, or some jam for those with a sweet-tooth... 🍓

I was already busy fertilizing the lawn (this time with weed killer as ze GF gets a little tired of spending hours at a time on her knees picking it by hand), and she just returned from a food run, mostly bread baking mix, as we were running low...

This seems to be it with tasks for the day... leisure... 😎
Birds screaming their tiny heads off, various things are blossoming, bees and their fat, fury stepsisters AKA bumblebees are buzzing around... 🐝

have a pleasant weekend 😎

Good morning Martin and thanks for the coffee.

It's currently 41F here in the darkness of New Hampshire. The sun isn't due for 50 minutes or so but I think the sky here is also pretty clear. "They" are guessing it will be 48F as the high, a significant drop from yesterday's 72F!!

I'll be hitting the road in a half-hour or so with a pile of visual aids for this spring's Hunter Safety class. 26 students made it through last nights class, let's hope we see them all today. I believe this is my 27th year as an instructor for the program.

Nothing else planned for today, an 8 hour class and 2 1/2 hours of driving (round trip) will be enough for a Saturday.

Be safe, be careful and don't overdo the weekend relaxation!

Scott

Good morning everyone and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

52/82 and sunny. Can’t complain, except for the expected sweating while doing outdoor chores.

Hmmm…..It’s just getting light, and I just heard a gunshot, possibly a 9mm. Not a shotgun, although this is turkey season. Could have been intended for a fox, coyote, or armadillo.

Coffee! That says it all... Good for me, good for us all ! This past Wednesday evening, got back from Ontario - home and happy. Next day, rode my VFR 1200 and my Roadmaster out from their winter storage garage, and they're now resting quietly in the home garage, ready and waiting. Got acquainted with the big Indian a bit, via a short careful ride each of Thursday and yesterday. Did spend several hours installing a Utopia back rest. I found it interesting that American engineering is a bit different from Japanese. Neither is better, just different. Also, took delivery of a new Sena Impulse helmet yesterday, that required getting the app on my phone, and going from there to activate various features. Thanks to my granddaughter, we got a good start.
Now, back to coffee!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the go juice Martin. I dunno about Nespresso, but at least one other pod-style coffee maker includes a reusable blank / empty capsule you can fill with the grind of your own choosing, or devising. If I ever switch away from my drip-into-a-carafe maker I'll consider that type; the disposable single-use pod model rubs me the wrong way.

It's bright and sunny and 59°F in Rockville. We've entered a warming phase that could see us into the low 90s by late next week before dropping by 25 degrees. You could get whiplash watching the thermometer bob up and down. There's nary a drop of rain in the forecast for any of the next ten days.

I'll drop my car for service this morning, then head to the periodontist for a follow-up of the implant she installed two and a half weeks ago. I'll solicit Mrs. Fun to act as chauffeur, and propose breakfast out as her payment / reward for services rendered in that area.

Other than those things, it's getting high time for me to actually complete our 2025 tax return, a task I've been avoiding as I am certain it'll be expen$ive this year. The only que$tion reamining i$, ju$t how co$tly will it really be?

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Thanks Martin, don't smoke the weed chemicals. I'm almost surprised Austria allows you to even purchase the anti-foliant, simply because you remark about the laws and restrictions there for everything you do.

We'll have a good crop of chickweed in the yard, and healthy poison oak in and around the shrubs. This, despite our unusual lack of rain for the last couple of months.

I have stuff to do today, but can't remember most of it, except for another local bike night this afternoon. There are about 6 going on over the next couple of weeks, including a party to roll out the Ozark BDR (Backcountry Discovery Route), which are always interesting and fun to watch.

The owners, executives or staff of industry supporters are always in the rider mix, rider personalities, and of course the route planners and designers. I find the films very interesting, and are always professionally produced by video and photographers who also ride offroad.

Touratech, Mosko Moto, Butler Maps, Edelweiss Tours, lots of vendors send riders... I'm forgetting a lot of them, but they're all the adventure riding and touring companies.

Anyway, I like watching the riding, scenery, and video production. Reminding me, the big adventure bikes CAN handle all these trails, even the optional hard parts. Good stuff.

Sterling Noren produces many of the BDR films, and also has his own YouTube channel called Motorcycle Travels, or similar. Low key, and relaxed, but still exceptional production quality. I'd like to meet him. Sterling also owns a little motel out there in Arizona somewhere, as well as a video production business, but he rides everywhere around the country.

I'm usually the only, or one of very few, adventure bikes at the Bike Nights.

Maybe there would be more adventure bikes if bike nights were held at Starbucks?

I kid.

Hope y'all can take a day off, but enjoy it either way.

LOL, yeah... ;)

It are more those knuckleheads in Brussels coming up with such; likely a follow-up directive forced due those "new population guidelines"... 🤔

But you're right, just like you can't get any bottles with battery acid (hence also no new, infinitive shelf life, dry-charged YUASA with the DIY acid container taped to it), have garden centers now all fertilizers and weed killers under lock and key, secured inside a grid container/cage and a sign:

  • [PLEASE CONTACT OUR SALES STAFF FOR ASSISTANCE]

which I happily obliged over the simple joy in observing that orange-vest rolling his eyes and exhaling sharply over being interrupted in his doom-scrolling by a customer (me!) threatening him with intend to purchase... 😈
And BTW was the padlock only a dummy, just hung into the steel loop, no key required... 🙃
So we got a two years supply of lawn fertilizer on spring-sale... without having to show any ID, proof of age or background checks... 😁

Morning Martin & All from a very :wind1: morning with clouds about, in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 55F, up from 49F and heading for 63F. The winds are blowing from the SSW @ 11 to 17mph. Later they could get up to 40mph.

Jay, sorry to hear that. Hope you get healed soon!

I was able to get the roof on the greenhouse. That was lots of fun with the winds blowing!

I still have the door to put on. When I go in, I keep hitting my head in it. So I told Chris I might make a new base for it about 12" to 18" to make it taller.

Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) on the list for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
