Any encounter this fault code? Went on the other day while riding down the highway, reset when I shut the bike of at my destination, and then went back on about 2 hours into my ride back home.

Official report is the Pulse Generator or wiring aka crank position sensor or wiring.

Does not seem common, just checking before I pick up a replacement crank position sensor.

Don't think it is a common failure on st 1300 . don't mean yours is not bad. I
replaced one on my gl1800 Valkyrie for intermittent hot soak crank no start

As said, this is not very common (at least I've not read of many posts about this on this website). I don't believe in coincidences. Since you have replaced two of them, maybe its something you ate? :rofl1:

I didn't replace two of them. The fault code appears during two separate rides of over 90 minutes each and did not appear on any ride shorter than that so far.

Try asking @Tdinova. If I remember correctly it was he who was chasing an intermittent problem for quite a while that turned out to be a defective crank sensor. His thread has been lost but maybe he can describe what some of the symptoms were in his case as a comparison.

OOps, sorry, I combined your post with vstrom.zrxdude's post in my mind and thought you had two such failures.
