This morning soon after leaving for commute to work the FI light came on and stayed on steady. It was on again for the trip home. We checked the code tonight and it blinked 2 short times. Checking the manual it says MAP sensor or a poor/loose vacuum connection. Do the MAP sensors fail or is it more likely a vacuum problem? My bike is a 2004. We erased the code and I will see if it throws another code or if it was a random fluke. The strange thing is the bike ran normal, I couldn't tell any difference in performance. Charles

Ok, thanks for response. It didn't throw a code on way in this morning. I will see what happens over next couple of days. Checking the 5 way is a good place to start at.

Mine did this very intermittently for a long time, maybe 35000 miles, before cleaning the vacuum hoses and the 5 way connector fixed it. It would sometimes trigger a rough or low idle rpm but the bike always ran good above that. The FI light would clear after turning the bike off and restarting and then the problem would not reappear for a long time.

I have had a few mornings when it would run rough on start up but always ran strong above idle. I will need to clean/check 5 way connector soon. Hopefully that will solve problem. Thanks for the input.
