First Impressions of the new Avon STorm Ultras

I can report that a new Storm front on an 1100 with only 250 miles on it, performed very well under full military spec emergency braking, gripping tenaciously without needing ABS intervention..... right up to the moment of impact......:(

Ben,
Had "head shake" (standard 45-35 decel) when I purchased the bike with Metzeler880 on the front. Went away while I had Dunlap Arrowmax ("factory tire" for the 01) on the bike. Returned when I had the Stroms installed. As long as there is light pressure on the grips, it isn't noticeable to me. I now have 11,000 miles on both front and rear with the rear wear bars just starting to come into view.

Did I read that right? You crashed your bike? Are You OK?

DAVE - Yeppers, FirstPeke got taken out by truck pulling a trailer.

BEN - Probably already been asked, but have you changed out the steering head bearings? My 97 STD shakes like mad because they are shot. Fixed the problem on my other two ST1100s. (planning on replacing the 97 STD front end is the reason it still has the old bearings).

My Ultras are on the way. I am very concerned because I only ride with my hands off the grips. In fact, I can't remember the last time I actually touched my grips while riding :D Couldn't resist... can't wait to give them a try.
My Z6's have 17K miles on them. I must ride like a granny.

Just out if curiosity. If you look at the axle on the shifter side of the bike (left) what do you see?

Is it flush on the fork, in a bit or out a bit? Photo would be best.
