of course have they issued a "heat warning"... pfffff... 😒
16 to 13 million years ago, Vienna was located right at the coastal lines of a tropical ocean...

fed the fearless descendant of the mighty sabre-tooth and had a decent cup at ze GF's... ☕

while me sipping my brew, the kitten sat in the middle of the room, staring at me... 😼
like thinking "... if I would weight just 40kg/90lbs more I'd eat you ..."... right... ;)

traffic density was refreshingly low... since the '2020 home office plague' many still skip work on Fridays...

office, dull, Nescafé... no top predator giving me a stare... :coffee:

the ride to ze GF's place last night was 'rich in experience' though... ;)
despite Google showing the "tangentiale" (as we call that city highway) in deep red over several kilometers,
I thought I go on a recon mission to check how well we could filter and lane split there...

it actually turned out pretty 'French style' (slower though...), a hand full of large scoots and naked bikes were filtering between 2nd and 3rd lane of the vehicular gridlock crawling along...
the fat '94 ST right with them... bleeping the horns at the 3~4 absolute stubborn cagers attempting to even close the gap, while waving at those giving you space... 😎

but its strenuous... 😵‍💫
2nd gear most of the time, often only 1~2 inches clearance at the mirrors and continuously on the lookout if someone makes a desperate sudden change of lanes,
or attempts to pull right into you just for the fun of it... wouldn't have been the first time that some knucklehead even opened his car door just to block me... 😒
being able to briefly stop without putting a foot down, change into 1st and take off again to maneuver around a car mirror helps (and amazes the kids on their small rides... 😁)

so does observation and foresight... 🧐
one time an impatient power-ranger (colored leathers on a small naked bike) squeezed by me, only to instantly get stuck behind a Czech car pulling a trailer holding two jetskis...
me, having seen a nice gap opening two lanes over, smoothly pulled ahead like 10 car lengths... the parrot colored rider stayed behind after that... 🤣
never underestimate an old geezer on a motorcycle... 😁

at home I found ze GF wrenching on her NT...
She had intended a grocery run on it, and got fed up with the reduced payload the small pannier lids provide (which she had installed after her unfortunate coming off a year ago...)
so she put the large lids back on again... by herself... 😎

Friday... afternoon: bike shed...
Saturday: also bike shed (hopefully)...
Sunday: ride-out (+ daughter #1 will stop by to pick up her predator again)...

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 70°F with 100 percent relative humidity in Rockville. The air yesterday evening as I came home with Mrs. Fun, after picking her up at Dulles, was actually visible due to its high moisture content. We'll have a sticky, uncomfortable, fetid, wringing-wet high around 84°F with 50/50 chances of rain between 1400 and 1900 hours. Yesterday's predictions for afternoon storms were right on target: we got a good wetting for about three hours, which was enough to cause me to bail on today's planned round of goof with the neighbors. They suggested playing an alternate course but I elected to cancel altogether because of the humidity.

I'll play some ukulele instead, and enjoy breakfast with Mrs. Fun.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.
 
Morning all, and thanks for the startup Martin.

Just like in Keith's neck of the woods, it's at least 100% humidity here. It was condensing overnight and earlier this morning, but for the ride in it's just "thick." It's supposed to liquefy again before getting possibly sunny for the ride home. Temps are 18 headed to 23. Glad there's air conditioning at work that also dehumidifies.

It's 71, going to 84, and the Weather Underground is calling it partly cloudy. I see hazy blue sky outside. It's supposed to cloud up, later in the afternoon.

Yesterday , I made it to the gym, and "eased" back into my core and leg day. I'll be wearing my Freeze Sleeve once I post this.

I don't know what this day will bring.
Maybe more gym. The Wing is whispering that she's waiting...

My mind is still foggy for who knows why, I slept for 7 hours last night.
Humidity maybe? Nah, I'm used to that.
We went to a fundraiser banquet last night, but got home at a decent hour. Went to bed on time.
Oh well, Black Rifle is dispensing the brain mist.
With chances of thunderstorms yesterday, I rode to work without Kaiser. But badly guessing the timing of said storms (they "said" slight chance), the trailer got soaked inside, as I had left the lid open so it would air out.
The large dog odor was getting very noticeable when I would open it for him to jump in.
I called Roz from the office to ask her to close it, but it was too late.
Tonight after work we'll go see a great Allman Brothers tribute band, called End of the Line. We saw them a couple years ago.
Tonight the show is to recognize the 55th anniversary of the release of the At Fillmore East double live album, a permanent fixture on anyone's list of the best live albums by any band or performer.
Ever.

Between me and Roz, if I time it right between rain showers, and IF she cooperates and closes the lid in time... the au naturel sunshine and air should do it.
But if not, I'll certainly consider the chemical alternatives.

G'mornin' from the office! It was a very soupy morning thanks to last night's nearly 2 inches of rain. But the temps were very nice and forgiving along with light traffic. Got to chug down a quick cup o Joe...i guess it tasted good, thanks Martin!

Supposed to get up to 90F/32C and a chance for more rain this afternoon. If so, I will time it to skip out ahead of them to avoid wearing the rain gear in 90+ degree weather.

Not much else here. Some garage work weather permitting. House work. Mowing will have to wait until it dries out some. Take care y'all!
 
Good Morning, thanks Martin for coffee. 17 C high 22 C at 3 pm so the phone app says, no wet stuff forcast for today, wet stuff supposedly tomorrow. Found a oil puddle on the floor where Lady is parked, curses left fork is leaking, will try my seal saver tool, before replacing the seals. Hopefully it works till the end of the month, when pension checks come in. Today's agenda, will be working on Dune buggy and bike If I feel like it. Cheers G
 
Morning all! Overcast with the possibility of rain though the sun is also trying to make an entrance. 16C now, 21C later.

Working from home today again. Trying to shake off the remaining effects from yesterday's migraine. It's been a long time since I had one that bad. Today however, is much improved :). There are also a couple of guys coming to take away the wood from the tree we had taken down on Wednesday. It was a large maple and we were sad to see it go but would have been sadder to let it keep dropping large parts of itself everywhere.

Sadlsor, good luck with the de-dog odourfication. When our two get wet it's a pungent experience. The larger issue is the magic fur that appears in the wake of the vacuum cleaner. But for a nano second, the house appears to be clean.

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently @ 11:30AM, it is 88F, and heading for 97F. We hit 99F, yesterday. Thank goodness. it's a "dry" heat! :cautious: The winds are already active, coming from the SSW @ 15MPH. Later, they will be out of the SW @ 16 to 24mph.

I started moving the motorcycle parts to the tractor shed. There are still a few more to do. But I have a meeting today with the Hotel Gal, to see if modifying the contract is possible. I'd hate to have to cancel the one, just to open another, @ another charge. We'll see what happens.

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ for the midmorning start. Pepsi(s) for later.

The crew came Monday and ground off some of the old, patched asphalt on my court. Today the truck came and sprayed tar, then they got serious about the job.

It looks like the paving machine actually pushes the truck for a short way during / after a refill of the hopper. Interesting.
