G'Day...

22°/36°C, again glaring blue skies... ☀️

weekend gonna be even warmer...

home Nespresso, in peace... ☕

office Nescafé, not so much... ☕

ideal when the stench of decomp welcomes you in the kitchen/break-room...
apparently are some smart enough to drop leftover food into the trashcan... the peak of evolution... pfffff... 😒

and pretty much everyone just drops unwanted, annoying tasks on me...
slamming a thick project folder on my desk with no other information to it then "... we need to know the additional efforts..."
ain't improving my mood... not at all... invoicing?! not my job, never was... the first time I get confronted with this 💩 ... 😒
So I've to decipher hand written 'work reports' because that office lady "... doesn't feel for it..."?!! ... 🤬

and the refrigerant order got mixed up... of course I'm the one to blame...
(nah! I ordered correctly 6 tanks R32 and 2 tanks R410A... despite its not even my job to begin with... here is the hard-copy of my email!... and now back off!!!...)

Dreaming of the day I hand in my notice and walk out of here...
preferable with like a movie explosion happening behind my back... 🔥

TGIF... 😎

Geeze, I was typing something there and I don't know what happened...
Anyway, couldn't have been important
reminds me of a song
All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey
it was a song that played in my mind in 1968 when I borrowed my sister's boyfriend's
mustang bike and was riding down the street in Kelowna ah yes, it all comes back
I have to agree, wasn't the best Thursday but the weekend's coming so
as Elton John once said, in a song
things can only get better
Wish everyone a good one

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 70°F and mostly cloudy in Rockville, with scattered light rain showers possible along with a high of 86. I'm headed to Charlotte for the weekend. Today down there the high will be around 87 under partly sunny skies.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Morning all, and thanks Martin for the startup.

15 and cloudy headed to 19 and rainy later on. Guess I'll get wet riding home as I didn't bother to being the rain gear.

Tomorrow is pickup the new mower day, which is mixed blessings. Mowing should, for the most part, be easier. I do expect frequency to now increase at Mrs. O's request. It could always be worse, right?

Hope everyone has a great day.

Obo.

Thanks, Martin. Hopefully it will be easy to not think of the office for 2 days... or at least one and a half.

Someone's channeling ME. Thought I was the only one that did that...
It could always be worse, right?
Sure it could.
It could quit starting with less than 24 hours run time. (Not that I know anyone that's ever happened to...)
Time for breakfast with the boys. Hubcap and smoked sausage.
And lots more coffee!
Time to scramble.
Have a Friday.
Even if it's a good one.

Good morning All
Another day, another dollar, Martin. . .

I was outbid on the property I was trying to purchase yesterday, I was concerned about surface water issues, it required perimeter ditching, etc. There must be a better plan for me!
Presently 59F with today’s high of 70 & a possibility of showers!
Enjoy your day!

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.
With those temperatures, you could probably boil water for coffee at your desk. Still a bit away from 100, I know...

It's raining and 65 in MA this morning, rising to 80.
It'll become partly cloudy and then we'll have a chance of rain, again, later in the afternoon.

I managed another walk around the block for 0.8 miles, yesterday. It went pretty well, but I was experiencing hip pain toward the end. I think I'm shortening my stride, and that's affecting my hip muscles. I'm trying not to limp, pretty successfully, I think.

Today, we'll drive to the train station in Grafton, and take the commuter rail into Boston.
We're using the tickets that Brenda won, to attend the Red Sox/Yankees game. The best vs the worst teams in the league, according to the TV announcers.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good TGIF, Morning y'all. Hey Martin there's a reason WORK is a four letter word. Hopefully you are done for the day and are enjoying the ST's. Cloudy and wet,14 C feels like 11 ( Cold) high 17 C ( you call that a high?) 17 mph winds from the Southeast. It's take the Van day if I need to go anywhere. Being Friday, spoiled myself with bacon, cheese and two Sunny side up eggs on toast, coffee and a bowl of Rice crispy's., to quote the Dog "Urp" . Cheers Y'all G IMG_8121.jpeg

Thank you for the coffee, late as usual on this forum. It's been a cracker of a few days here in the south west of the UK. We went on a trip up to York earlier in the week, the weather was glorious with decent temperatures around 23c. On the way home on Tues it was around 23-28c as we headed south. Stopped for lunch just outside Stratford upon Avon (Shakespeare country) at about 1pm, by the time we set off, about 2pm the temperature had increased to around 35c, that was uncomfortable but only for about hour till we got home. Last few days have been hovering around 36-37c and very uncomfortable, particularly at night (remember, this is the land of rain and more rain, so we don't do a/c in our houses). This morning was about 28c so I took the opportunity to take the spare ST1100 out for a bimble into Gloucester (needed a pre-holiday trip haircut!). Quite nice into town, but on my 'extended' ride home someone up there decided to turn their outside thermostat up and I was rather warm by the time I got home  Things should still be warm tomorrow, but are due to return to the low 20s on Sunday/Monday. That should make our ride to the ferry at Harwich (en-route to the Baltic States) somewhat more comfortable!

Morning Martin & All from a sunny & :wind1: , Southern Utah!

Due to the high winds, they are threatening to shut our power down. I guess some in town are already shut down. I'm hoping our area won't require it. :pray1:

Currently, it is 80F, heading for 91F. The winds have been blowing all morning from the S @ 6 to 17mph. And later, we expect them to come from the SSW @ 30 to 46mph.

My shirts came in from Vista Print. Not bad.

I continued on my door frame project. I filled in the gaps and today I'll splash some Kilz on it. Then hit it with the white paint. I have to wait though, for the Sun to get farther West, so I'm not working in direct Sunlight.

Chris and her sisters decided (for some reason) to go down and visit their Dad, in SoCal. So the two sisters will be here on Saturday and the three of them will go down on Sunday. Then they'll be back by Tuesday.

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

@Whisker Bill Being outbid in this case is known as "somebody else's problem now."
Yes, it almost ticked all the boxes!
The surface water was one of my biggest issues with that property, anytime you can just dig a hole and have a pond it, isn’t all that good!

Morning all! Grey and rainy here at the moment though the forecast claims there may be sun by the end of the day. 13C now, 18C later.

Hoping it will dry up enough to let me put some of the colour tester paint up that I bought yesterday. It's a pretty dark green:

(not our house)

Whiskers, I think you made the right call in ditching that house.

Hope everyone has a great day!

G'dafternoon from Florida! Thanks for the caffeine hit, Martin! I don't think I'll ever figure out the Nespresso machine here, but it works well enough to give me SOMETHING that is liquid and the taste resembles coffee. Cloudy and 83F/29C with showers/bubble-up storms all around as is typical here in summer. Not much different than if I were still at home, except no pets nagging me awake for food. Ahh, bliss!!

It was an easy morning after an easy flight. Last night with the MIL was rough but at least she didn't talk disparagingly about us to our faces. She kept her accusations to everyone else that has been helping her...whoever is left, meaning mostly her sons. Today, I did get out to get some tools and do some things done around her house. Her garage door has been real loud lately, the track wheels were probably the original ones and the cheap steel ones. So I replaced them with quieter, nylon ones. What a difference! I've done the same to my garage door and it was night and day with the garage right underneath my bedroom. Not that she will care because she's practically deaf, but hopefully stave off future problems.

Other projects are to find out why her ice maker isn't working. One son has already paid a guy to "fix" it several times, but she still has to use trays. #HELLUVAENGINEER to the rescue again. I'll try to not flood the place. Welp, better get out there and tag-team so no one person bears the brunt of her woeful life story. Take care y'all!

Bob, what's the reasoning behind shutting power down due to high winds?

Due to fires caused by downed lines in Kaliforniastan, the Power companies of the West, have decided, instead of making sure their lines are up to date, they like to turn off the power to certain areas, just incase the winds knock their lines down and start a fire.

The fire in SoCal last year near Pasadena (can't remember what they called that fire) was started due to downed power lines. That was the big fire that burned down a bunch of houses and businesses. But it wasn't the Palisades fire that burnt to the ocean.
