Some have an entire science lab on their counter just to make coffee.
Scales, timers, special kettles, the whole works...
I push a button and get irritated if it takes too long... :coffee:

G'Day...

-1°/10°C, frosty but sunny morning... ☀️

me having another refill... ☕

clear skies with night-frost is like a kill-switch for them trees... ❄️ 🎑
the maple as well as the fig have dropped all their leafs at once... 🍁🍂
a mess to clean up...

yesterday's delivery came kinda late (nicked some 4ltr containers 5W10 synth bike oil for € 44,- each; retail be € 69,- ...)
so it was already 1530hrs when I rode to my place... sunny and 10°C, still comfy wearing Jeans and my Gore jacket with liner...
Did all my documents, updated the laptop... by the time the sun was down, temps dropping...
Grabbed my long Dainese winter underwear, the Outlast sweater as well as the Gore pants and Daytona boots...
Snugly warm on the way back to ze GF's place... no way of telling that it had dropped to 5°C... 😎
Traffic is havoc though...
end of daylight saving thus setting dawn right into rush hour instantly raises accident numbers... gridlock...
almost no motorcycles out, only a few resilient scooters...

Not much planned... besides raking some leafs, responding to a job referral and a food run with ze GF in the afternoon...

Weekend is here... 😎
ze GF is threaten with the idea of a hiking tour... 🥾
Some physical activity might do good... 🤔

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the pod juice, Martin.

It's 66°F and raining heavily in Rockville. The high will be 70 or so, with mixed clouds and sun.

I awoke to the flash of lightning followed ten seconds or so later by the thunder, so "how far off" I didn't wonder- mostly a bit over two miles away, with one strike about a mile off.

Both lightning and rain are moving away, with no further excitement following (closely) behind, so my plan to meet someone I first encountered on my Iowa bicycle ride last summer and go for a bicycle ride around 0830 is still intact.

This evening I'll meet up with a cousin who's in town; we'll have dinner together somewhere in DC.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks, Martin.

It’s finally getting cooler. 46/62 and clear. Into the 30’s by tomorrow morning. I’m going to try to mow this year’s final cut today. The first time in almost a month. The grass doesn’t really need mowing, but it looks better over the winter if it’s an even length. Dang, just remembered that I need to put on the mulching blades. They do a better job on the fallen leaves.

@ibike2havefun “How far off, I sit and wonder.” Nah, there’s an app for that.

John

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

You almost describe our Oregon son, who has his espresso machine and grinds his beans before use.
We've moved from a drip machine to a Kuerig, since my 6am departure when I was working left Brenda with stale/burnt coffee when she woke at 7.

It's overcast and 64f/18c, with rain in the area. We've got 100% chance of rain, today, as the temperature rises to 67f/20c.
Rain is predicted to be heavier to the southeast.

I made it to the gym, yesterday and not much else.
We got a text from our D-I-L, saying that she'd stop by today around 9-ish to drop off our grandson for the week, so Brenda did a bit of shopping for supplies for his stay.
We don't anticipate dining out during the next week, so we made an early visit to our favorite Chinese/Japanese restaurant.

Today, I'll spend a bit of time getting ready for our grandson's visit by putting things away, and making the house a bit more baby proof.
I'll try for another gym visit, but there are no guarantees.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Yeah... hate those...
- that grinder makes a helluffanoise... migraine on an empty stomach...
- quality, taste, aroma of beans always varies widely... even when you stick with the same brand...
- grinder requires frequent cleaning/adjustment...
- got served absolute disgusting brew out of such constructs on numberless occasions/sites...

Drippers require like 20 minutes to make a proper cup of coffee...
Capsule unit: <2 minutes, and always with the same quality and taste...

The above pic was taken from a site selling Japanese Siphon Coffee Makers... they turn like everything into a zen-art...
Highly doubtful that I'd the nerve for fumbling with such an abomination early in the morning... 🤔

G'mornin' from SoMD the doc's office! Waiting for the wife to go back for her lapyroscope (or whatever it is)...going down the top hole for a lookylook. But I got one cup down and a little work done beforehand, thanks Martin!

I haven't the patience for all that barista/connoisseur jazz nor do I care enough about the taste except for a burned pot (and that stench). Throw grounds into a filter, water in, hit "brew", and I get nice & safe coffee to keep me sane and those around me alive.

Yeah...

... that'll grow some hair on your chest...
And other parts.

Not much else. More work after this though I promised the wife Dunkin when she's done since she hasn't eaten since last night.

We got a whopping 0.09" of rain, just enough to make everything sloppy and slick but not enough to make much difference. Hope you got to do your ride, Keith.

Signing off for now. Take care y'all!

Morning Martin & All from an overcast Southern Utah!

Currently it is 42F, up from 33F and heading for 53F. No rain according to the weather apps, but these clouds seem pretty low. No wind right now, but later they'll be coming from the N @ 12 to 18mph.

Of course my Electrical Project is not going as smooth as I had hoped. I've had to replace more than expected (what's new) and having to run for extra parts slowed progress as well. We'll see how things go today.

Once Chris is awake, we'll get some breakfast.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all. Grey and raining here. Currently 10C, high of 13C predicted.

Took the cage today as I have to stop at Walmart for groceries after work. I'm going to be out of town for a couple days at the beginning of next week for a hearing so decided to let the provisioning begin to ensure that my wife has sufficient comestibles while I am gone.

Hope everyone has a great day!
