at ze GF's working the Nespresso maker...

early start yesterday... work clothes, ladder, tools, caulk gun...
trimming powder-coated aluminum profiles with my cordless band-saw to close/seal the gap between house wall and terrace roofing...

the guys installing the glass sliding doors showed up at the premises around 0930 hours...

me "G'Day! Great! Finally..." (I'd expected them around 0800...)
1st guy: "... we're here about the glassing... and you?..."
me "... living?!..."
1st guy: <blank stare> "... uhm... ah!... sorry, sorry... last time there was a lady..."
me "... everything's fine... beverages? coffee?..."

3 fellas, no drawings nor instructions included... the jigsaw puzzle took them almost the whole day...



after they'd left I finished caulking the last profile into place and cleaned all up...

ze GF texted, inquiring about "the situation" and if there is still time for her to go to the hairdresser's...

hours later she showed up.... with an estranged grimace I swiveled my head, looking beyond her, inquiring

"... who are you?! And where is my GF ?!..."

she punched me...

I've to admit the short Jamie Lee Curtis hairdo suits her quite well...


Today it seems I'm chained to the house though...
several shipments are inbound, new wiper linkage + motor for her Skoda...
as well as some high temp spray-glue for the Octavia's vehicle liner...
the "extreme(?)" heat a few weeks ago has led the fabric to delaminate from the cardboard,
so the entire surface is bulging inward, hanging loose like a hammock, flapping around when you drive with a window open...
according to 'Dr. Google' a common issue with German production cars (Skoda is part of the VAG...)

Gonna be a busy weekend, fixing/replacing the wiper kinematic, removing the liner, flipping it over, glueing the fabric back in place...

but: its Friday!

Yesterdays drive on gravel in the deep forest was amazing.
Hours without meeting a single person or car.
Stopped for fishing, but only small bass was foolish enough to bite.

Today is more of the same, but with less driving.

12˚c/54f, calm, overcast, rain later, great weather for fishing.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 70°F and cloudy in Rockville. I awoke last night to the sound of thunder (how far off, I sat and wondered?) but I didn't start humming a song from 1953. I rolled over and went back to sleep, letting the thunder (and maybe rain?) continue with their business. Today there may be rain in the evening but there's none shown during the day, so I'll risk a drive to the goof course.

I hope that either the stored credit card data they already have, or the virtual card on my phone, will cover the balance between the raincheck I got on Wednesday and whatever the cost is for today's round of fun.

I'll also continue to plod and trudge my way through getting various wallet contents replaced.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Cage day today, threats of more rains or monsoons etc. Muggy 16, headed to 24.

The rat-race work project I was told needed to be done this week (at the beginning of the week) that I've been pushing everything else off from doing, took an unexpected twist yesterday. (No, my wallet is fine...) I was told to do said task a certain long and difficult way, contrary to the way it's normally done. The reasoning was somewhat justified but not logical, and much more laborious, time consuming and difficult. When the mother-ship overlords found this out yesterday, they said no, it can and should be done the original way, if you really want to. So the project sits in half and half land. Do I continue alone laboriously, or do it easier, different and collaboratively? Either way now, end of today's not happening. Lots of cooks in this kitchen, and no one understands the recipe but me.

Guess it's time to get on the phone and stir the pot some more....

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start , Martin.

It's sunny and 53 in MA this morning, rising to 85, later.
Yesterday's clouds and occasional rain gave way to a sunny morning.

I did the gym thing , yesterday, then we were on to the wholesale store for supplies, and a new canister vacuum. I told Brenda that it'll be nice to have wheels for a change...
Dinner was had across the street, and my surf and turf coupled with spinach risotto was tasty.

While I was at the restaurant, I emailed the race coordinator to let him know that I can work today. He'd sent out mail saying that he needs a few more workers today. This track event was a new one for me, so I had declined to volunteer , originally. Then, a coworker said to stay away, because of the general craziness. I did some checking , and it's a road course drifting event , in addition to whatever drifting they do on the skid pad.
We'll see if my coworker's admonition is valid. At any rate, it's only for 5 hours.

G'mornin' from SoMD. I sit in a doc's office waiting room, headache brewing. The wife is back there somewhere getting an endoscopy done. The worst part is...NO COFFEE. I need a dbl shot STAT! I'm fading as I type this...please help!

Today hopes to improve as I finish prep for the trip tomorrow and WFH a half DAY. I'm sure there's other stuff to report but I can't think straight. Please take care y'all!

[UPDATE] - well it got cancelled bc my wife made a dum-dum error and forgot to take her blood pressure med the day before, resulting in a spike that the doc deemed too dangerous to do the procedure. So, we get to do it all again in a few weeks. Huzzah. Take care y'all, and I mean it!

Morning Martin & All from sunny, but very , Southern Utah!

Currently it is 72F, heading for 83F. The winds have been blowing since yesterday, from the East @ 6 to 27mph. And later, they will shift to the SSW @ 23 to 40mph!

Yesterday was go get produce that Chris bought in bulk. And then finding out that propane was 1/2 off, so we had to go home, pick up my empty propane containers and get them filled. Then stop by for a hamburger. The rest of the day was finishing up the lawns & weeds.

Today, we'll start out with canning tomatoes. Then I'll see what needs to be done with WeSTOC 30, besides send in the numbers for the dinners.

Today is the last day for sign ups.

Eggs, bacon, toast, OJ & Lemon Tea. Pepsi(s) for later.

Thanks for the coffee Martin! Good morning everyone from a rain soaked rock in paradise. Currently 74 with a chance of sun this afternoon.

Well..... the wife's car diagnosis is the worst of the possibilities, I tracked the slow AC leak to the evaporator. Isolating it from the rest of the system, gives a stable vacuum reading. A boroscope camera inspection shows a nice green stain of leak check dye on the evaporator.

I just have to remove the seats, center console and the entire dashboard to get to it. The heater core will be replaced as well.

Ahhh life in paradise.

Good evening Gang, was a excellent day for me, Wife and Precious are down across the line in the US of A. So I got to ride out to Mission race track to watch two friends of mine rip around the track. On my way there stopped in at two toy stores and got some 5 mm ×1/4" hex bits (2) and 2 Led lighted magnifying glasses.
