Front Fork Spacer, stock length?

Paying attention... the riders that changed their springs and needed a different size used PVC or ABS. How long or short was yours that you need to change it?
I wouldn't have thought that to be a durable solution. hmmf.

Also, something that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!

yeah, too bad you didn't ask about possible alternative solutions before going to Ebay. People have been using PVC spacers for decades.

I rode my ST1300 approximately 110,000 miles on spacers made from a PVC sink drain tail piece which was possibly 2mm in thickness, very thin. The OD of the spacer was very close to the ID of the fork tube which is very important to ultimate strength. As long as the spacer is kept in column it is capable of carrying very heavy loads.

Throughout the years of reading motorcycle forums, as well as hanging with these kinds of crazy people, many will use PVC for fork spacers, and some of them will put an equivalent steel washer on the top to maintain contact with those springs.
It's not like you're gonna crush a PVC pipe end-to-end.
Well, at least I've never heard of it in this application.

In the ST the spring stack already includes a washer on top of the spring then the collar (spacer) on top of the washer then the fork cap.

Best measurement bottom of bottom triple to top of fork tube, still on the bike on the center stand, about 6.1 inches. A fair bit less than the 20cm mentioned.

I took it all apart and found everything is OEM size, and I imagine the fork springs were undersprung to achieve the "lowering" effect. the gap between my front fender and chin fairing was about 1" less than a stock ST that a friend has, so that's my only conclusion. Anyone have an additional idea how this would be achievable otherwise?

I guess by undersprung you mean weaker in spring rate? The spring rate is a measurement of the amount of force needed to compress a spring a particular distance.

They probably were "weaker" springs.

You should be able to find stock springs.

I have some RT springs and all the fixins to make it stock height. Just wrapping a bit of the previous discussions.
