Fuel Consumption Display

Peter-L

Hi all,
I have had the battery out from my 2008 ST, and am now trying to reset the units showing on the Fuel Consumption units display. According to the Owners Manual (pg 27) I should simply hold the FCD/H button for more than two seconds, and the display should change from km/l to l/100km. When I hold the button for more than two seconds, nothing happens  Am I doing it right? Any hints?

Yep works for me on the the 2007. My manual has the section on page 29. It says "When the fuel consumption meter is no displkay press and hold the FCD/H button more than 2 seconds.change the unit "mile" or "km".

When I tried it the first time I had the display on and the units did not change. Then I cycled the display using the HCD/H button and it changed units.

The 2 seconds have to metric seconds if you are setting it for kilometers.

Funny!

Is your bike running when you do this. I am at work so can't check the bike but if not running there is no fuel being used so it may not display.

Just a thought...

Things that make you go ... Hummmm?

I can only speak for the US model, but to change the display on my '05 (odometer, trip meter and fuel consumption readouts) from US to metric you must first toggle the fuel consumption readout to the "no display" mode before pressing and holding the FCD/H button. To reset the average fuel consumption back to zero, the fuel consumption readout must be toggled to the "average" mode before pressing and holding the FCD/H button.

Pans might be different.

The problem is fixed and thanks for your input. I suspect that my error was not having the display in "no display" mode, which was not mentioned in the Owners Manual.

Here's the sequence that I needed to change the display.

Ignition on, but engine not running
Fuel consumption display set to "no display" mode
Held the FCD/H button for more than two metric seconds :p:
The Units Display flashed "l/100km" momentarily and went blank again
When I flipped to "Av" the display had changed to "1/100km"
(Display was previously "km/l", which I did not want)
