Ran across this site. Have not used it, but looks quite useful...

Lots of options... https://www.zeemaps.com/bunk-a-biker_world. Note the filters at the bottom of the map.

Edit: also note that the map seems to center on your device position. Pretty handy when travelling. Mine centered on Plano, TX where I am currently (work). Assume it's centering for your position as well?

Yes, it's roughly centered on me as well as I'm no where near Plano. :)

Thanks Paul! I saw that the other day. Still trying to figure out how to use it.. Spent the am looking at the campendium app too. Bought a bigger, taller(!) tent from Mellow and have to camp more if I want to complete my spring trip goals.

Looks awesome.Kind of like evergreen club (for 55 years or older).Lots of friendly folks out there by the looks of it.Any one tried it?

Paul,

No way I could use it because I'm on the road too often and if I used it as a guest I'd feel obligated to list as a host. :)

My wife has been stuck too many times with hosting wayward motorcyclists we know while I was away from home to tolerate total strangers in that situation. Ask her someday, about Canadian Bob (retired, sold everything, no home to go to) a total stranger, who wouldn't leave after 2 weeks, even when asked. Then stayed another 2 days after being not so politely told to leave by her. :rofl1:

I'd be interested to hear how it works out if you ever do use it.

maybe in case of real desperation... don't want to check in and never check out !! I'm sure most of it is good natured.

Well you never posted a max day stay limit.. even the BLMs do that :yr1: :rofl1:.. All kidding aside , that's scary. Hope she's packing!

The long story is: I was on one of my coast to coast rides in the middle of nowhere New Mexico. Stop at a Middle of Nowhere Cafe for late lunch and a lone rider shows up; I naturally say pull up a seat. We talk, and kind of enjoy the comraderie (having nothing in common other than motorcycles). He's been on the road for over a month from Canada heading east to Florida, from California; and I tell him I'm heading west for California to Seattle. As we part I tell him if he's ever in the Ozarks look me up and give him my info. I head for California and he heads for ... the Ozarks. :thumb: ...By the time I get home he's worn out the welcome he never really got. :rofl1:

Interesting guy, spent his life building custom guitars for all the big name Canadian guitarists that I can't name, retired, sold everything, and hit the road. Must have been REALLY hard of hearing or just used to ignoring barkeeps pounding the bar and yelling closing time. My wife got tired of asking when he was leaving and told him he was leaving tomorrow a couple of days and that didn't work. Finally we just pushed his bike down the driveway took some pictures to show him where it was and said GO.

My wife says she only has one rule for my offering a motorcyclist hospitality - they MUST have a home somewhere. :rofl1:

... Did I mention he rode a BMW GS???

Tom

Have you seen Toms house ?? :rofl1:
The house was fine; but no matter where I rode in the country; the best riding was always close to my house.

PAUL,

Really sorry about the thread hijack; it's winter, I'm old, I forgot what we were talking about, and the dog ate my homework.

PAUL,

Really sorry about the thread hijack (no you're not); it's winter (never mattered to you), I'm old(have been for at least 25 years), I forgot what we were talking about(you don't forget anything), and the dog ate my homework(impossible, the dogs are smart and know they'd starve to death trying to survive on your homework).
