Great Company that repaired my Garmin GPS

So on my way home from the BRG the XM radio in my Zumo 550 quit working it didn't even show up as being installed. Garmin would not fix it they said they had no more parts WJBertrand recommended I try a place that fixed Palm equipment so I sent them an e-mail the president of the company wrote back detailed the exact cost of the repair and recommended replacing the internal battery. So I packed up the 550 and shipped it to him on Dec 4th it wasn't due to be delivered until the 7th according to USPS yesterday I got an e-mail from him it was already on its way back to me repaired and working 100%. If you have a Zumo or probably any GPS that has a problem drop them a line and ask about the possibility of repair. The repair on my 550 was very reasonable $60.05 included the repair installing a new internal battery and return shipping. Their contact info is below. A great company to do business with.

I wonder where they get their batteries from? The last few I got from ebay lasted all of two months, and the was on three different GPSs!

The battery and install was $11.00 I can't say enough about these guys the person I communicated with is the president of the company. I will let you know how it works out when I get it back

I've got 2 Zumo 550s. Chris has repaired both of them. Quick service, reasonable prices. Very customer service oriented.

Re: Great Company that repaired my Garmin GPS

Someone else posted on another thread that Garmin was no longer supporting XM on any of their models . . . this is definitely good to know.

Thanks Steve.

I bought a refurbed faceplate from them for $60 a couple of years ago. It had the fix for the buttons, which I needed and I had lost one. Great to work with.

Do I have this right? All you need to get Sirius is the interface device..... if it's in the Garmin, then you have it. You subscribe to XM not to Garmin......

I think its only the 550 and 665 that have XM capability and you need an xm30 and xm40 antenna respectively to get XM and of course an account with SiriusXM

No.. don;t have it right. You need a subscription for the Sirius just like the Xm.

I see the move is to support Pandora and Spotify on the new Zumos....

Yeah, that seems to be the direction they are going. Works fine as long as you have a generous data plan and remain in cell serviced areas. Only XM really works out in the sticks. Too bad Garmin are dropping it. This is a prime reason I stick with my z550 and I'll keep sending it to PalmDr. as long as it can still be fixed.

Zuno 550 and 665 antennas are for XM only and it works fine for me throughout the US until I start getting to far North. ;)

I've got a lifetime contract for XM on my Zumo which was only offered for a short period of time and I'd hate to not be able to keep using it . . . forever! That's why I'm glad to learn about this repair resource. Thanks all.
