Helmets Has anyone tried any of the new dual-sport helmets?

I bought one of the HJC SP(?)16s from Newenough.com , the one with a built-in retractable sun screen. The screen alone is not dark enough, so I added a piece of much darker static-cling sun screen material across the top, and now it works great.

Easily the best helmet I've had, ventilation is great, fits me well, easy removable shield, and that drop-down screen is wunnnderful! :D.. Decent price too. :bow1:

Wear an Arai XD3, can take off the beak if you want, very quiet as well:06biker::06biker::06biker:

The beak catches a lot of wind(can be removed but then why buy it?). Internal visor or tint on the top of your sheild would better on the st

I had to wear an Arai tour helmet (issue) when I rode off roaders at work. Never liked the prospect of coming off travelling at highway speeds on the highway going from one job to another. The chin guard sticking out so much seemed like a great way to stop your head sliding with real bad consequences if it hooked up on lets say a raised man hole/inspection cover whilst you slid down the road. OMO. Go for a integral sun visor as others have said.

Hi all - thanks for all the great info.

I have what most people have been recommending, one of the older nolans with the flip down exterior sunshade. It works pretty good most times except when riding directly into the sun. As most have said NO sunshade really compensates for that. I might try one of the static cling sun blockers and see how that works.

I've got a G-max 27S I think is the model #, the 3/4 with the lights on the back and lots of vents.

It does have a shield and beak, or you can wear it with a shorter bill...

The beak and shield add a lot of noise, I like the beak, but have a much nicer noise (less by far) experience with just the bill...
