HawksHead TPMS Review

Mine will do the same thing I noticed. I have to hit it a couple of times to get it to turn it off. Hmmmm

When I removed the unit from my bike to ship back to HH, I manually turned it off. All lights and displays were off. 10 mins later, at the kitchen table, I picked it up to put it in the shipping box and the light was back on, but no other part of the display was lit up.

At first It was very sporadic but seemed to get worse over time with the light staying on longer and longer. I didn't think much of it until my battery life started to suffer. That prompted my original email to HH asking them how the backlight was supposed to act. Basically it should be off if the unit is turned off and should also turn off when the unit goes to sleep after 15 mins of no movement.

I have been using mine for a while now no issues at all although I think it reads a bit lower than my Accu gage. I only have 1 unit but attached a Ram ball and mount it to the clutch reservoir I switch it between bikes.

I have found that my back light sometime stays on when I power it off. Another push on the "off" button turns it off, Doesn't always happen, though.

Add me to that list as well. Seems random.

I was under the impression the backlight comes on in dusk-like conditions, I'll recheck if it is on in full daylight...... you have to be positive in the button push (gloves not recommended) and hold it for a few seconds for it to be fully off, otherwise a short single push may just put it in sleep mode.

I'm seeing a low battery indicator for the first time. Should the Cruiser 2 have come with a USB cable for recharging?

Yes. There's a charging port on the right side, covered with a black silicone cover. Uses a micro-usb

Any micro usb cord? My TPMS didn't come with its own cord.

Being a low tech type, (not sure how I wound up with this TPMS!), I've never charged anything via USB. Can I just plug it into a computer?

Yep, any micro-usb and you can plug it into a computer or plug in usb charger. If bought new, yours should have come with a charging cord.

Interesting... I found this and this on Amazon. Exact same as the HawksHead moto units. One supplier, multiple brand marks.
