I am a newly owner to a 2012 st1300. I joined to ask everyone on here. Can some one explain to me why the headers on the 1300 have the extra piping. They have that strange forward U-turn? Why not just make a Y pipe and run a single pipe to the back of the mid pipe. Just wondering because even the after market headers are the same as the stock? To me it seems like extra exhaust not needed.
