Helmets Helmet: Best Ventilation?

Bit of a hijack but along this line, I just went back to Arai (got a new Arai corsair V) because while the Shoei rf1000 I had was a decent venting helmet it was the worst I have ever had for fogging and the real killer was in rain the vents all leaked so my helmet and my head were soaked a few minutes into a rain ride. This was my first and only Shoei.YMMV

In addition to the vent designs... Sometimes if you examine the inside shell, you'll find the hole in the foam isn't big enough or slightly blocked, or the liner does not have mesh panels. I also find it is a direct function of where you have your windshield positioned too.

Yah, I'm thinking that may be a big factor, also. Doesn't do any good to have a huge scoop on the shell, and no channels behind it in the foam.

My Shoei helmets have always brought in lots of water on rainy days - until I close the vents.

I have a Shoei TZ-R and the vents work quite well, although it's the first helmet I've owned with good vents. My old Arai F-1 didn't vent very well.
