Help!!! ST1100 Front brake pad pin head stripped

It says 6 on the bit and I measure it 5,8mm. Would not be surprised if it has a close similar measurement in the US.
Can't be sure, but it might have been that mine were fixed with locktite. If that is so in your case, then heating the thing to above 80?C would likely also be required.

The star bit is very similar to the modern "EZ outs" sold by Lisle in places like Pep Boys. I haven't looked at mine recently, but I think they have even more splines--and they don't tend to snap off like the hardened spiral EZ outs.

That thread is M10 x 1.0, btw. Not something you're likely to find at the local big box hardware store, so if you're going to drill near it, be prepared. Those pins are excellent candidates for anti-seize...
