Hi Gang, Thank you for having this informative forum. My name is Kevin, my friends call me KeBo. I ride a 2018 HD Fatboy 114 and a 99 Triumph Trophy 1200.

I am looking to trade in my Trophy against a 2010 St1300 with about 17k miles and in perfect shape. Dealer maintained since new and a known local history. Shes a cream puff. The price seems fair at 6500.00 but Im working on it.. lol...

I looked all over the place for a road test and owner thoughts but haven't found anything. Would you guys let me know your thoughts on the bike and your 'watch for' items?

Thanks!

Kevin

I'm an a1100 guy so I can't help personally but you will find a road test on Motorcycle News UK website, I will try to post a link. I'm sure the 13ers will chime in soon.
Basically they're built like a brick outhouse and will go forever with the right maintenance.
Upt'North.

Mine's only been good for 139,000 miles so far. Great bikes. Tires, oil, and check the valves every 25,000. Most people prefer an aftermarket seat, many like handlebar risers. Not much to not like about the bike.

I ride an 02 1300... Check the same things you would on any bike. Service history, consumables & warranty offered by seller.

Only ST specific thing to add, check the swingarm & exhausts for rot (though I think the swingarm issue is on the 11s??).

For reference, I paid 3500.00 for my 02 with 43k on the clock. Almost 4k later & all I've needed to do was change the oil. Brakes are a little low, but I'll do them in a week or so.

Re the 13's being bullet proof... I took a bird strike to the radiator a few weeks ago... Huge pop & feathers everywhere, but otherwise no sign it even happened! Stick vaguely to Honda's official service plan, and you're golden.

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like a good bike to pick up. I would try to get them down on price. Be sure to check the bikes here for sale also, you might be able to see what a good honest price would be.

As for dependability, you couldn't ask for better. I put 174.3 K miles on my '05, before selling it to one of my sons, who is still riding it! I have put over 50K on three ST1300s, I'm on to 80K on one of those... So, depending on how much time you spend in the saddle, it can last you a long time!

I have owned three...came from a couple V65 Sabre's. This is the nicest and most durable bike I have been around. There is someone on here that has over 300k on theirs.
Smooth, solid, fast, large gas tank, very aerodynamic. And it's a Honda..!!!
I paid $6500 three years ago for an 06 with the factory trunk, pipes, and Corbin seat. Had 29k on the clock

Oh ya, .welcome from WA STate..!! And this forum can answer all your questions about this bike...

I bought mine new 12 years ago this month. I should turn over 100,00 this June on a long trip. The only time it did not get me home was from a flat tire I could not plug. It has been a rock solid bike. I would have a lot more miles on it if I would quit buying other bikes. I bought a BMW R1200RS that will replace it as my touring bike when I decide to part with the ST.
Your going to miss that Triumph. I have a 15 Tiger 800XCX. I love it!
Now go buy that ST and try to see if you can wear it out.
