I wonder if any has done a comparison on what color helmets are sold more often. Then compared it to the whole analysis of what color helmets are involved in a crash. My assumption after reading these articles are that the most sold colors are in more crashes then helmet colors that do not sell the same amount. Hence the block vs. white or high vis argument.
I was wondering the same thing, reminds me of a fact My father told me, about which color cars get the most speeding tickets, you know I'm sure we've all heard the bright red cars get tickets more often, because they stand out, actually the study he was quoting (he's retired CHP Capt) shows white vehicles receive the most tickets? I said how can that be? he said it's simple, it's because there's more white vehicles than any other one, and it's by a large margin, that was years ago, maybe it's change by now?
In my own personal observations, I do think White helmets stand out maybe more than my bright yellow one, but my thinking was, there's way more white colors in town that a white helmet might just blend in with, I mean drive down any street, and there's allot of white cars, white signs, white fences for a white helmet to blend in with, to me it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of super bright yellow things for the helmet to blend in with? that was my thinking any way.
