Hondaline Topbox Hinge Repair

It may have been lost in the 'great deluge' but someone posted a neat repair to the outside hinge of a Hondaline Top Box with pictures.
The boxes have a solid plastic strip with a fold in the middle along the back side.
I'm trying to find out what they used as it looked really nice.

That sounds like plastic piano hinge. Is the plastic strip straight and not curved?

Yes it is straight, I just remember whoever did it made it look really good.
Plenty of choices out there for those types of hinges just trying to figure out what exactly the poster used.

Nope, that wasn't me, sorry. I replaced latching lever with key lock to make possible to lock and unlock top case with the key and remove it without opening it.

There are some interesting alternatives to the primary subject in the second ad....look at the bottom of that ad. Some may help with a neat looking repair.

I already found those and that may have been what they used.
It would be nice for a 'confirmation' though ...

Maybe not what your looking for but; my temporary fix has held up well. Partial hinge tear ,when slammed my elbow into it while open. Gorilla Tape . easy fix

I would think the adhesive hinges might work for a while but heat usually softens adhesives. What happens when it sits it the sun most of the day, long trip and then you open the box, will it hold?

Well, there will be some 'additional' fasteners involved as needed ...

That could well be. The heat and sun are not a big problem for very long here in Norway. I think used a few layers of tape. It's held surprisingly well and it dosent stand out as a repair . I had forgot all about it till I saw this thread .
