For the ST 1300 riders that change their own tires, how many miles have you ridden before you realize you forgot to reinstall the rear fender with your license plate on it?

I haven't done that one yet. How many miles did you make it?

If you run the front and rear up on a 2x8 before you raise the bike centerstand on a third 2x8 the rear tire will clear without removing the fender.

YMMV

I've changed tires, about 27 times, on 5 different ST1300s (covering over 280K miles). I haven't forgotten yet!

I guess that means you're in a class all yourself! ;)

Just don't ask me about the right side front brake mounts! :(

I haven't forgotten....yet. Almost twice. I know someone who went a whole day. Figured I'd ask. I ride the bike up on 2x4s and another under the center stand, still need to remove the fender though. 4 bolts, not biggie. Until of course that day I forget! haha

Sounds like an entry into the "Make a mental note of that..." thread.

Peace and All Good

Since I just throw parts on the floor around the bike during replacement, I'd either trip over it or run the bike over it if I forgot to put it back on.

Hi there: I've never made THAT particular boo-boo - but I have ridden about 5 hours halfway across Ontario with the keys sticking out of my GIVI box.

I'll bet you could do the fender-license plate thingy for just about as long as it takes the LEOs to find you and pull you over for a "frank & open" conversation about your legal status......:

Pete

Never but my lower rear fender has a Whelan strobe attached to the brake light wiring so I get a reminder.
