Just curious, being a bit of a dragrace guy, How quick (1/4 mile) is a stock 93 ST 1100? I am not going to take the bike to the track and find out.

As Rolls Royce used to say in their owners handbook, "Sufficient power for all driving needs".......

12.82 sec - 108 mph for the 1100
12.15 sec - 117 mph for the 1300
at 950 ft above sea level
both bikes were slightly loaded with traveling gear

Fast enough to get you a ticket boy.............just sayin'.....:D..........takes LOTS of cage to beat one...................ff

..."Sufficient power for all driving needs"...
:plus1:... 'nuff said!
In all those years/decades on the ST1100 I always easily smoked or passed anything I'd intended to smoke or pass... regardless if solo or with TB and luggage aboard (the latter actually eases the task due increased stability and traction at the rear...)

I have no idea, but i know she is Quick, and faster than this Old Man needs to go!!
At 120 by the speedo, and still pulling hard in 4th gear I Quit, shifted and slowed down.
No idea what her top end is and I never will find out.
But she is sure fun to ride.
Of the three bikes I have, 93 Gold Wing, 95 Nighthawk 750, & 02 ST 1100 the ST is the most fun to ride.
I am 65 now, and seem to have more trouble holding the bigger bikes up, or balencing them, when the wife is on with me.
I have a Voyager Trike Kit for the Wing, not realy a Trike, more like training wheels.
I have thought about buying the kit for the ST, it only takes two bolts to put the Voyager on and off.
That way I would be able to continue to ride the ST, with her on the back.

It's relative, to where you are standing.
If you are standing behind it as it leaves ---- Slowest
If you are seating and driving it ----- Faster
If you are standing in it way ------ HOLY $&@! That the fast thing you will ever see.

All depends how you look at it, or not.

Haha now that made me laugh. Good one.

Quick enough! The ST1300 has more roll on speed but not that much. My GPS has shown some interesting 3 digit #'s over the years. Held the throttle wide open for a very long time on US 50 in Nevada while carrying a load once.

First time drag racer at Maryland International Raceway, I ran a 13.5 my first try and a 13.1 my second run. And this is on a 1991 ST1100 with over 115k on the odometer.

Traded off a Valkyrie in part due to too many moving violations. Don't believe the ST was the answer. (grinning green guy)

.........GPS 115mph hits ther rev-limiter in 4th. Just know this from previously riding my other scoot which is a bit lower geared in the final drive, then jumpin' on the STeed not realizing I was not yet in fith gear:rolleyes:.

In 2003, Dave and I both bought V65 Sabres, because they had more get up and go than a ST1100 had.

Then in 2005, we both upgraded to the ST1300s and haven't looked back! :D

Dave always bought his first (including going to V45 Sabres back in 83 or 84...) and then I followed...I wanted to make sure it would work out the way he thought they would...;)

That V65 sabre was/ is a monster. My twin had an 1100 and it would eat my ST!

That said.. It was top heavy and uncomfortable. Not 1/2 as fun a ride. :)

I fixed that with a RDL saddle. We just got tired of working on them anytime we wanted to take long rides. With the ST1300s, we have ridden them where we would have never tried riding on the V65s, due to worrying about break downs.
