At 75, definately on the backside of 40, and I’ve come to realize that I’m not as fit as I once was, both physically and mentally. I can no longer lift, run, or jump to the level of my expectations, but who of us wants to admit that we’re getting old. But today, I had a rude awakening, while getting a new battery for the SUV. I was slightly perturbed by the fact that the battery didn’t last any longer than 3 years because I definitely remember changing it out, not that long ago, so when I walked in the parts store, I had them check my purchase date. The clerk was amazed that it lasted this long, since it was installed in February of 2018. Where did the 8 years go? And why is this battery so much heavier than the last one?

Now, I’m considering other items around me. My “New” computer is 13 years old. My “recent” living room TV is 15 years old. My hunting boots can be measured in decades. “Oldies” music was recorded in 2000. Some items that I purchased in my younger days are now worth more, as they’re considered to be antiques.

A lot of people say, “Remember the 70’s”, as if I can remember what happened over 50 years ago.

On the upside, my new doctor can’t find anything seriously wrong with me, so I’m planning to stick around for another 75. I hope all of you stay with me. It’ll be fun, I promise.

I was thinking the other day (while riding of course), that I'm finally at the point where I actually know a lot. Not just how to run the world better ;) , but also just in how things work. Even if I come up with something I haven't done before, it isn't a big deal.

I also realized that when I was 20-something, I thought I knew a lot...but didn't really.

And now that I'm in my 70s ...those 20-somethings don't want to hear from guys with white hair like me. But back then, I was the same way. 🤷‍♂️ It's the way man has been since the beginning of Creation. Why should I expect it to change? :D

Yes I too thought I knew a lot in my 20's, knew even more in my 30's and 40's. now 1/2 of what I know is obsolete and I still have to learn new stuff! Since my brain doesn't seem to forget the old stuff, I sometimes wonder if there is room for more? Where is that delete key? NO, not that self delete one!! Or the memory one. Guess I will have to still plod along and add my 2 cents (also obsolete) when the younger ones need help (and vise versa as well). Cheers, Bruce

I never look that closely at any of that stuff around me; of all the machinery in my life that I have to attend to in order to keep the wheels moving I think more about the things that I enjoy instead of the baggage; I had a great weekend trying to get the wheels off my motorhome [which I failed,; miserably I might add ] instead of riding the ST that I set out [for the second weekend and barely rode] than any of all of that,
Wasn't a very good band in their time, but the message resonates with me
a very good friend of mine, told me something the other day, and I'd like to pass onto you what I believe to be true,
It is the journey

I have a jar of pennies I can share so you can have 2 cents to add.
