Before the site went down, loosing a lot of information, some of you may have seen one of my posts about how I have been trapping/rescuing/reuniting lost animals with their owners.
I think I’m currently up to 65 dogs since July of this year.
Anyway, there has been a dog, that the locals call “the ghost” that has eluded animal control, humane society, and too many rescue groups to count.
She was unapproachable!
Folks would leave food and water in bowls, at the edge of the desert area where she was often seen.
She is a very smart dog to have survived for over two years, between heat, cold, monsoon floods, and homeless folks shooting arrows at her.
She has never shown any signs of aggression, barked, growled, etc.
She just ran away, and would not let anyone within 50 yards of her!
I have game cameras set up and have seen her fight off several coyote attacks, javelina attacks, and even a Bob cat lost to her.
She is beautiful!
She has true bushido!
Well after 6 months of trying to gain her trust, and trying missy traps, k9 traps, romancing her, etc.
I purchased what they call a collarum snare trap.
I got up a couple hours before the sunrise, buried the trap near where I was feeding her, and waited.
Allow me to introduce you all to “the ghost“!
She was transported to animal rescue for some injuries and health issues, and they will hold her for 3 days until she is out of quarantine.
She never barked, growled, or showed any signs of aggression!
All she needed was patience and understanding, and an expensive special coyote/wolf trap
