I wound up with about 12" of rise to be comfortable on mine.

I started with 2"rox but still felt cramped. After the closed eyes reach drill I settled on 10-12" of rise. I ordered a set of "Chopper Bars" because I could weld an additional crossbar for accessories. Once in position I discovered I didn't much like the grip angle so I cut and rewelded those as well. Now that I have the ergos figured out I'm going to make a new set of bars that arch over instead of the current that arches under to clear the Bugcatcher Scoop I plan on cutting into the top of the air filter housing

5" up and 4" back just to get normal leg clearance!!! Harleys don't fit any better. This is my Mid 60's busted up Old Granddad Bod.

That's what I did. I already knew the seat would need extensive mods just so my knees would fit in the fairing. I did the close my eyes and reach for the controls thing and figured out where I wanted things to be. I'm pretty happy where I am now. I have a few 2-300 mile rides on it and things seem to be good. Next I'll fab up some bars that arch over and maybe a few inches wider. I think they'll look better and give me more clearance for the Intake mods I have in mind. As it is I think my rider triangle is where it needs to be.
