If not Haynes, which is the beST manual for the 1300?

Haynes or Clymer manuals in conjunction with an FSM.
They will have some diagrams ( wiring/circuits) and procedural steps not included in FSM.

I have Honda and Clymer manuals for both our ST's. Never had an issue with either.
Suppose I have a dislike for Haynes based on my experience with them back in the 1970's/80's. Poor editing? Can't comment on their more recent manuals.

There's a section here somewhere that lists some/all? of the errata in the FSM/HSM Factory/Honda Shop Manual. For my money that would be my first purchase.

I've never had a shop manual for any of my other bikes. But a combination of Clymers (first) and (then) Haynes was good enough back then. Their pictures as opposed to diagrams were often very helpful.
