There must be something about me that makes the salesmen take pity on me and treat me different. Maybe it is that I'm short. Losing my hair. The local BMW/Yamaha/Kawasaki, etc dealership has let me take multiple bikes out for hours. Just sign this piece of paper that says I bought it if I drop it.

I can’t recall a dealer ever discouraging me from sitting on a bike. Pestered yes, ignored yes.

Maybe if I asked “Got any crated ST1100’s in the back?” it might go differently

Yes, but, I will say having the creature comfort of heated gear whilst raining, can make the ride a tad more enjoyable and dare I say safer. Once you experience it, it’s hard to do without.

And when you are on blood thinners and have had numerous hand surgeries that reduce feeling in your hands, heat becomes much more necessary - just the joys of getting old and be surgically 'repaired' many times.
If my hands get very cold, they pretty much lose most of their feelings.
I'd rather have it and not need it as to need it and not have it ...
