Greetings All!
I don’t get to say this much anymore but..
Hey! New kid in the block here!! Lol
After many years of looking a fool on many bikes, I can say it’s in me and won’t go away, not talking about being a fool… but I have to have a bike, I have to ride. Full Stop.
Interesting enuf, at this stage and have come across a bike that I didn’t know existed. Which at the end of the day, this discovery takes me right back to my 1st road bike purchase.. after the obligatory rural town teenage dirt bike years I wanted the open road, so I got me a 83 CB1000 with that 10sp hi/lo tranny, what a bike.. I’ll never forget as I left that dealership. My 19 yr old 115 lb skinny ass hugging that, that beast.. the salesman says be careful, that’s a lot of bike. He was right and it was one of the happiest seasons of my life, took that first road bike on my first roadtrip; Midland, MI to Key West and back. Man did I learn some lessons on that trip!
Major fast forward to now and well, running into a sweet deal on a sweet 07, more importantly is that this bike now makes me feel like it’s all new again, you know.. over time, experiencing many styles of bikes, it’s kinda sad I didn’t understand what I wanted in a bike until now after all theses years, am sure some can relate. It’s been awhile since a ‘toy’ has made me feel this way and wanted to share, besides I started a conversation over somewhere in the forum without any intro.. apologies! so here it is! lol Currently in ne Fl, Retired about 2 yrs now so still trying to figure that out, answers to no one and yes trying to get used to that also. But I have an ST on the lift, all the plastic is off and excited to get to work! I don’t have any affinity to squids, baggers or adv riders, I think anyone on 2 wheels is heads above the rest regardless of the platform of choice! A biker is a person and a bike is a bike. Thank God!
So enuf for this, as you may gather, I don’t get much adult conversation. HaHa don’t get me wrong, am lucky and living life!!
Cheers!
Keith

Yep, the ST1300 is a keeper.

What other bikes are in the fleet?
Currently have a 22 Fat Bob and a 23 500 Rebel, which makes a fun pit/campground scoot. Prior rides.. after cb1000, next was Shadow1100, then VTX1300, then 04 Valkyrie, then the HD, now the ST. I guess I kinda like Hondas. Each was the next in succession covering my past- not many with several short time bikes were in there but these have served my 1 after the other and my ‘had a bike all my life’ lineage.

Year round riding weather?
I hate you already...

Welcome! :hat4:
Hahaha!! Yes can’t deny! However, hot hot hot is definitely a thing here and I am having fun with the ST heat reduction efforts, after studying that problem and seeing what’s what in person, well the brain is runnin!!

Hi Keith / Nd.

I see you’ve had Honda Shadow 1100 before.

Me too— a year ago I sold my shadow 1100 and got an ST 1300. But one month ago that ST was totaled in a wreck by a pickup truck driver that ran a red light where I was sitting and waiting. Now I just purchased a replacement motorcycle, and I decided to save money and go back to another Shadow 1100.

I found it in Pensacola, Florida, and rode it home on New Year’s Day. 500 miles to my place just north of Atlanta.

Wow!! Well much better you can tell the story, so glad! Hope you bought a lottery ticket! That 1100 is a great bike! No Fear!!
Enjoy it and don’t linger at stop signs.
