Good morning everyone

How can it be Monday so soon? Time must have folded somehow and short-circuited the weekend. At least the coffee maker still works, so I've made French roast for everyone.

It's 16°F and clear ("they" say) in Rockville. it must be a bit breezy, though, because the feels like is -7°F. Brrrrrr. I think I'll remain indoors, bundled up and cocooned for a while.

I never got around to doing anything with that chair yesterday. Maybe today, but maybe not as it's bound to be cold in the shop and there's no particular urgency to get it done.

Apart from Mrs. Fun returning to the fold there's nothing on my calendar for today, which suits me just fine.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

I don’t wake up cranky... I wake up undercaffeinated... :coffee:

G'Day...

-1°/0°C, overcast, fog, freezing drizzle... yuck...

Morning appointment at the quack... "discussion of findings"... pfffff...
As so many also this PYT doc appears to be on the payroll of the pharma industry... :cautious:
Despite average oil pressure of 135/94@87, completely within the tolerance of a 60 year old, Caucasian male,
she wants to fill me up with chemicals by the kilogram... ... all made by the same corp of course... 😉
Nah, I'll rather cut down the sugar intake/switch to Coke Zero and loose a few pounds...
Rest is fine, no (pre)diabetes, no cholesterol, nadda...

Back at the office, building offers... where did that weekend go?!

Mornin’ y’all. Thanks, Keith.

And I was sleeping so soundly. Then the power blinked for a second. When it came on, my security system was beeping, the printer went through a cleaning cycle, and the bedroom TV came on. Hard to sleep with all that going on. I turned everything off and now I’m headed back to my electric blanket.

It’s 22 degrees. Nothing gained by getting out of bed, this early. Still too dark.

John

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.

It's clear and 10f in MA this morning, with the sun not yet risen over yonder hill. it'll become partly cloudy as the temperature rises to 23.

It flurried most of the day, yesterday, but the snow total was only about 1".
It stopped mid-afternoon, and I was able to shovel the walk and driveway in about 20 minutes.
We had high hopes for the Patriots, but it was not to be. Buffalo rose to the occasion , and denied the Pat's victory.

Today , I'll try for a gym visit, and the pet supply store in the same mall.

Enjoy your day ,
Steve

Thankful that the short circuit didn't take out the coffee maker, Keith. That would qualify as a national (or maybe localized) disaster. The FR is good, I've already dropped the water through freshly- ground Black ⚫️ Rifle beans, so we can all avoid the localized disaster areas.
Saturday I called Progressive roadside assistance to get my Element back in my driveway. As I had left it non-running on Thursday afternoon, the police had already affixed the neon green "abandoned vehicle" sticker on the window. The tow driver parked it nicely outside my garage, backed in so it's facing the street. Perfect.
I got the tools gathered, jack, and jack stands to hoist up my Element. Removed a plastic "guard" at the front of the engine, pored over the relevant service manual instructions, watched a couple YouTube videos, and prepared to begin disassembly in order to find the coolant hose that let go (I hope, and I suspect).
Last time I had a front tire replaced, I hadn't checked after their work to assure I could loosen the lug nuts... I ALWAYS! do that before leaving their premises.
Nope, not this time of course, and all 5 were air-impacted and over-torqued beyond my strength, even with my 4-way lug wrench.
Considered the heat gun, considered other lever possibilities, considered chemical-aerosol options... and by then it was getting dark.
Also been battling a solidly entrenched chest cold since Wednesday, with all the normally associated hacking and blowing and sneezing and expelling of fluids we don't like to mention. It's gross.
So with no more progress, nor real firm ideas, I laid on the couch and slept most of the day yesterday, and here we are at Monday already.
Today I feel weak but better, and I still have time to add the Hippo Hands to the bike this morning in preparation for a winter commute.
21° warming to 44° today.
I won't be swinging cats today, but I have considered stuffing Roz' four over my electric jacket, before I put on my outer layer.
It's all good, I'm happy to just be able to breathe again.
All these words, on just one cup of coffee.
Y'all can be gratefull I need a refill, or there may been more words pouring out.

Thx for the FR Keith!

Seems everyone got colder weather than us…..

10˚c/50f, grey and caaaalm.

Been for a walk.
Some more lights to put up, a bit of cooking, small stuff.

@Sadlsor Get well soon, and get back to your right Element.

Have a nice one!

G'mornin' from SoMD! Hoo boy it's nose-hair freezing outside this morning, 16F/-9C. Many thanks for the FR, Keith! I was actually up your way briefly Saturday night, worked a casino gig at the Hilton Dulles, then zipped over to the Best Buy in Rockville to pick up a gift...I'm sure you felt the disturbance in The Force by my passing through.

Got a dusting here Saturday overnight that somehow resulted in a 2-hr delay for schools today. I'm thankful my kids are well and grown now to not have to deal with that anymore. Did three casino parties last weekend and have one more this Friday. Helps with affording Xmas gifts and such, the aforementioned grown-up kids come with grown-up wishes. Attended a barn party as the wife's +1, nice ppl but not my cup of tea. I got along with our host's dogs very well at least. Anyhoo...

Now it's a WFH Monday and as we get closer to Xmas, more ppl disappear from the office to use up their leave, thus assignments don't come as frequently or at all, so work slows down. I can appreciate my company's stance to support our continuing education and broaden our skills, but only if it supports THEIR needs. So, I will dabble in their repository of courses that are not even close to my AOE, but I'm not pouring any real energy into it. Maybe it'll make a difference in my yearly review but not likely.

Princess #2 (the beagle mutt) continues recovery after having to buy a larger cone of shame for her majesty, thanks to her learning to maneuver around the previous one. Not much else to report, so I guess I'll sign off. Take care y'all!

Good Morning, not really. 40 mph winds have put the electricity out for over two hours, first bathroom run was at 5 am no lights on. Now 7:23 still off, using iPhone as a hotspot so I can use my tablet to be on the forum. 51 F/11 C high 56 F/13 C Cloudy and wet , that is what you get with a Pacific storm rolling in. So today's agenda,go back to bed for a while, and hope power comes on soon. Cheers G

Morning Keith & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 33F, up from 23F and heading for 55F. No breeze yet, but later we are expecting the winds from the NNW @ 5 to 6mph.

@Sadlsor, dang a double whammy! Hope you get them squared away!

Last night Chris drug me to a Christmas Special by Lex de Azevedo, a Hollywood Producer. I guess he's pretty famous, but since I'm not much of a big music fan, :confused1:
The concert was okay, but I'm not much of a big concert fan either...

Today, one of the neighborhood kids is coming by to talk motorcycles. He just started riding and I thought I'd share some of my experiences with him.

Chris is still asleep, so no breakfast yet. Pepsi(s) will be included at some point.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Up date , still no power, happy that we have a natural gas stove, just need to light it with a Bic lighter. Breakfast was Boiled eggs and Rice Krispies, and stove warmed coffee from yesterday's brew, reminds me of Shop coffee, well stewed. According to BC hydro, Crews are supposed to be taking the tree off the power line in about a half hour from now. Our stand by Generator is so loud kind of hesitant to start it, rest of the house is still asleep. 9:07 report over. Y'all have a good day.
Sadlsor , you might find putting a piece of pipe over your T Bar and using your feet to crack loose the wheel nuts, might be easier. G

Morning all! Grey and wet here, like really wet. It's been pouring down buckets since I got up around 6, really heavy rain thought it appears to have tapered off now for a bit. The rest of the day is supposed to be lighter but the rain returns this evening and will be with us all day tomorrow they predict. I think we're ok but there are warnings of possible flooding in other parts of the Island and they are certainly having issues (hope the power comes on for you soon Gerard!) over on the Mainland. 11C right now, a high of 13C is predicted.

Working from home again this week which makes the commute a bit shorter. The downside is access to various Xmas treats is much easier. May need to put a time lock on the office door that only permits escape during defined periods, though given the peanut bladder that could cause issues.....

Hope everyone has a great day!
