K&N do NOT make the oil filters that they sell, they are made by HiflowFiltro.
K&N purchases them from Hiflowfiltro, then just raises the price (marketing)
If you want to use the same filter WITH the nut on the end, you may want to consider going straight with the HiflowFiltro model, as they probably are a little bit better as far as quality control than the K&N filters. There have been no recalls on their filters, as the K&N models had, which could mean that K&N asked for corners to be cut, products to be made with a little less quality control for a profit margin....just guessing.
But HiflowFiltro is one of the largest motorcycle/scooter oil filter manufacturers in the world, and just about every filter on most motorcycles/scooters come stock with stuff made by them.
